Alabama dominates Texas A&M with a thrilling 1-0 win

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. –– A ball played over the top of Alabama football Gianna Paul was the deciding factor in Sunday’s 1-0 win over Texas A&M as the Crimson Tide dominated the offensive side of the ball.

Alabama scored an impressive 21 shots in the game and fired 17 attempts in the second half. Paul’s goal would come in the 21st minutest minute after a pass from Nadia Ramadan to move the Tide to 8-3-5 on the year and 1-1-5 in Southeastern Conference play. Texas A&M fell to 8-7 overall and 3-4 in the league.

From the head coach Wes Hart

“Super proud of the team for their fight, determination and persistence. It was a tough start to the SEC season, five ties in six games. It would be easy to sit around and feel sorry for ourselves, but I thought the girls said it. “We put that behind us and focused on today’s game. It looked like a team hungry for three points.

“We talked about it at halftime about not trying to just waste time, not trying to just hunker down and defend. 45 minutes against such a strong opponent is too much time. So our message to the group was: go out there and stick with it.” We pushed for the next goal but created some of our best chances and played our best football of the season. I’m really proud of how they executed the game plan.
