NFL video: Aidan Hutchinson suffers serious leg injury after colliding with Lions teammate

The Detroit Lions’ 2024 NFL season has taken a bad turn when Aidan Hutchinson’s leg injury was confirmed to be a fracturejust as bad as it looked in the video where his leg collided with another Lions defenderapparently broken just above the ankle.

It all started during a routine game with Aidan Hutchinson tries to fire Dak Prescott as the Lions faced the Cowboys on the road following their Week 5 bye. Hutchinson’s defensive attempt went well – he got to Prescott –but collided with the leg of fellow defender Alim McNeill.

Hutchinson went down and the game was stopped. He had to be carried off the field because there was uncertainty about the severity of his injury. In the video, his leg can be seen twisting in a brutal way that it shouldn’t be.

The Lions’ depth chart doesn’t offer many options if Hutchinson can’t return in the coming NFL weeks – or worse, the rest of the season. James Houston is also out and Nate Lynn is on injured reserve.

Aidan Hutchinson’s tibia fracture has been confirmed

According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz Aidan Hutchinson of the Detroit Lions suffered a broken tibiawhich ends his 2024 NFL season. Lions head coach Dan Campbell also stated that Hutchinson will remain in a Dallas hospital for some time.

Despite the tough news for Detroit Lions fans, It was reported that Hutchinson has already undergone surgery to repair his broken femuribia. However, the timeline for his recovery and return to play is still unknown.

Aidan Hutchinson was a key starter for the Detroit Lions defense in the 2024 NFL season. Until the third quarter of the game against the Cowboys he had recorded 11 solo tackles and 6.5 sacks. In the game in which he was injured, Hutchinson totaled three tackles.
