As the No. 5 Georgia Bulldogs travel to Austin to take on the No. 1 Texas Longhorns, with stakes higher than the ultimately meaningless show of the 2019 Sugar Bowl that loomed when the two programs last met, The Horns are favored to spear the Dogs again on Sunday as a 3.5-point favorite, according to FanDuel.

Texas enters the game undefeated at 6-0 for the first time since 2009 and was ranked as the top team in the country in both polls following Saturday’s 34-3 victory over the Oklahoma Sooners in the Red River Rivalry at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas.

Georgia reaches the Forty Acres with an unexpectedly narrow 41-31 victory over Mississippi State in Athens, in stark contrast to the Longhorns’ flawed but ultimately decisive 35-13 victory over the Bulldogs when Texas opened its first SEC slate.

The game marks the sixth meeting ever between the two programs, with the Longhorns holding a 4-1 lead over the Bulldogs, including Texas’ 28-21 win at New Orleans. The only previous game in Austin was in 1958, a 13-8 win for the Horns as part of a home series that also included a 26-7 win for Texas in Athens the previous year. Georgia beat Texas 10-9 in the 1984 Cotton Bowl, in addition to a 41-38 victory by the Longhorns in the 1949 Orange Bowl.

Kickoff on Saturday is at 6:30 p.m. Central on ABC.
