Following the viewing, the AFL Integrity Unit spoke to Essendon.

News Corp reports Yucel was jailed in 2016 after he shot dead “aspiring cricketer” Rahat Khan in the Melbourne northern suburb of Dallas. Yucel, a kickboxer, pleaded guilty to manslaughter and received a five-year prison sentence.

He is said to be a pal of Hind’s and is in a “friendship group” with veteran striker Jake Stringer.

As Taylor approached Hind, he asked about Yucel.

“How do you know each other?” asked the curious Taylor.

Hind replied, “You don’t want to know… No, we’re just good friends. I just met him a few months ago and he takes care of me. He takes care of me and Jakey (Stringer),” Hind said.

BT: “What do you mean he cares about you? What does he do for you?”

Hind: “He does a lot, we meet every day in a café. We come from different walks of life.”

Yucel is also convicted of affray and intentional grievous bodily harm.

News Corp also reports that Yucel “lived in fear of underworld figure Farshad Rasooli” and that there was “a confrontation” in 2015 over alleged debts.

During this confrontation, Yucel’s friend allegedly shot Rasooli, who was associated with the bike, in the leg.

At the end of the season, Hind was traded by Essendon and now Stringer could also be out as he seeks a move to the GWS Giants.

Stringer still has a year left on his contract, but would like a longer term. Essendon refused to extend the existing contract.

Essendon have confirmed the AFL have spoken to them about visitors in the rooms after a game.
