1 arrested in fatal shooting in Denham Springs

The following is a press release from the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office.

DENHAM SPRINGS, La. (WAFB) – On 10/12/24, officers from the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to Linda Lee Dr in Denham Springs in reference to shots fired earlier today.

Sheriff Jason Ard said: “Upon arrival, officers located the body of 44-year-old Joshua C. Smith. LPSO Uniform Patrol and LPSO Detectives worked together to collect evidence that led to the identity of a suspect in this case: 44-year-old Michael Rogillio of St. Francisville. With the assistance of the West Feliciana Parish Sheriff’s Office and the St. Francisville Police Department, Rogillio was located and taken into custody without incident. Our investigation is currently ongoing.”

Rogillio is booked in West Feliciana. Rogillio will eventually make his way to the Livingston Parish Detention Center, where he will be processed for second-degree murder.
