The increased YouTube Shorts time limit applies to videos whose aspect ratio is square or higher. It will not affect video creators uploading before October 15th. YouTube says it will also work to improve recommendations for longer shorts in the coming months.

Currently, a YouTube short film is limited to a maximum of 60 seconds and a minimum of 15 seconds. The minimum upload limit has not changed.

Additionally, YouTube says creators will be able to access a wealth of YouTube content directly from the Shorts camera in the coming months. This means remixing clips from your favorite videos or music tracks becomes much easier.

YouTubers will soon be able to use Veo, Google’s AI video generation model, to create YouTube Shorts. The AI ​​will help create new backgrounds and clips that can be added to Shorts.
