The government is distributing free COVID tests, and even if they appear to have expired, they are still valid due to FDA extensions.

With the fall season here and winter approaching, the federal government is once again offering free COVID testing to help keep you healthy. To order, visit covidtests.gov, click “Order Free Home Tests” and enter your information. You will then receive a confirmation email to track your order. Each household can receive four tests. If your test box has an expired date on it, don’t worry. The FDA has extended these dates based on new data. To check the updated expiration dates, you can visit the FDA website here.
