Japan Airlines (JAL) attracts foreign tourists to explore Japan by offering free domestic flights.

The offer, announced on September 13, is available to travelers who wish to book a round-trip international ticket and a corresponding domestic flight with JAL in the same reservation. This will allow tourists to visit attractions outside Tokyo, including Kinosaki – one of the “best onsen towns in Japan” – in Hyogo Prefecture, beaches in Okinawa and UNESCO World Heritage sites in Kyoto.

The free domestic flights are currently available to travelers from the United States, Canada, Mexico, Thailand, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, Vietnam, the Philippines, Indonesia, India, Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Dalian, Tianjin and Taipei. Travelers from the United States, Canada, Mexico, Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Dalian and Tianjin must pay a $100 stopover fee if they stay at their original destination for more than 24 hours.

A JAL spokesperson told Business Insider that “no end date has been set” for the offering.
