Why Kaia Gerber went to dinner with Liam Hemsworth and Laura Dern in New York without Austin Butler

Kaia Gerber went out to dinner in New York City last night without her boyfriend Austin Butler, but Page Six can exclusively confirm there’s no trouble in paradise.

In photos obtained exclusively by Page Six, the model was spotted at Ralph Lauren’s high-end restaurant The Polo Bar in New York City around 9 p.m. ET on Tuesday evening. The 23-year-old was joined by Laura Dern and Liam Hemsworth.

Although we’re told Butler was originally scheduled to attend the outing, the “Elvis” star got stuck at work.

“He shot long hours for Darren Aronofsky’s new film” and couldn’t make it, says an insider.

Representatives for Gerber and Butler did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.

Butler, 33, has actually been hard at work on the upcoming crime thriller “Caught Stealing.”

The movie star was photographed wearing white makeup and fake blood early Wednesday morning as he filmed a scene with co-star Matt Smith, who was barely recognizable in his colorful mohawk.

In Aronofsky’s new film, Butler plays a former baseball player who immerses himself in the seedy criminal underworld of New York in the 1990s.

Although Gerber hasn’t been seen in public with Butler since his birthday in August, that doesn’t mean the famous duo aren’t spending quality time together behind closed doors.

A source shares that the two, who have busy schedules due to their respective successful careers, would much rather spend their time together privately when they are in the same city.

Gerber has actually been spotted out on the town with friends lately, setting the rumor mill abuzz.

Last month, blind item gossip account DeuxMoi posted that Cindy Crawford’s daughter had been spotted “all over her body” while visiting French restaurant The Odeon with comedian Marcelo Hernandez.

Photos circulating online showed Gerber dancing, having fun with the 27-year-old “Saturday Night Live” star and appearing to pull up his shirt with a group of people at a party.

She was then spotted attending a musical show with Cole Bennett in New York City this week.

“Everything is fine with Kaia and Austin,” a source tells Page Six. “She’s just on the move.”

Gerber and Butler began dating around early 2022, two months after she broke up with actor Jacob Elordi.

“Kaia thinks Austin is a sweetheart,” a source told Page Six at the time. “They have a lot of fun getting to know each other.”

Since then, the couple has appeared on red carpets, including at the Met Gala, and vacationed together.

Before Gerber, Butler dated Vanessa Hudgens for almost nine years.
