Free monthly books for Schuyler County children at Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library

Thanks to the launch of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, Schuyler County’s youngest residents can now receive a free book every month. The program, announced by the United Way of the Southern Tier and Cornell Cooperative Extension of Schuyler County, provides free, age-appropriate books to children under five.

Enrolled children receive “The Little Engine That Could” upon registration and monthly books ending with “Look Out Kindergarten, Here I Come” until age five. Funded by donations to the United Way, the initiative ensures that all children, regardless of income, can build their own library.

The Dollywood Foundation allows organizations like United Way to purchase books at discounted prices and make them available to families for free. Parents can register on the Imagination Library website; For more information, visit the United Way website.
