Here’s how to watch the vice president debate between Tim Walz and JD Vance tonight – Hollywood Life

After the presidential debate between Harris and Trump in September, the Republican senator stated. JD Vance of Ohio and Democratic governor. Tim Waltz of Minnesota will face off in a vice presidential debate moderated by CBS News. This event takes place five weeks before voters head to the general election on Tuesday, November 5th.

Here’s everything you need to know about the vice president debate, including how to watch it tonight.

The debate is hosted by CBS News, so it will be broadcast live on CBS and streamed on CBS’ YouTube channel. Additionally, NBC, CNBC, MSNBC and Peacock will broadcast the debate live, along with CNN, C-SPAN, ABC, Fox News and PBS.

What time does the debate take place?

The debate is scheduled to begin on October 1st at 9:00 p.m. ET, which is 8:00 p.m. CT.

Where will it take place?

According to CBS News, the debate will take place in New York City.

Who are the moderators?

The debate will be moderated by CBS Evening News Moderator and editor-in-chief Norah O’Donnellalongside “Face the Nation” host and CBS News foreign correspondent Margaret Brennan.

Will there be a second debate?

Back in August, CBS News invited Vance and Walz and suggested four possible debate dates: September 17, September 24, October 1 and October 8 – dates they shared on X. 1 date.

“See you October 1st, JD,” Walz wrote on X on August 14th.

Vance agreed to the appointment, declaring that “the American people deserve as many debates as possible.” However, he also invited Walz to an additional debate on September 18, which CNN offered to host. Michael Tylerthe communications director for Kamala Harris‘ campaign, later told CBS News that Walz would only attend the Oct. 1 debate.

“The debate about debates is over. Donald Trump’s campaign has accepted our proposal for three debates – two presidential debates and one vice president debate.”

Typically in US elections there is only one vice presidential debate, and the likelihood of another presidential debate also seems low. Immediately after the Sept. 10 presidential debate, Harris’ campaign team issued a statement saying, “Vice President Harris is ready for a second debate. Is Donald Trump?” Donald Trump stated on Truth Social that he would not participate in a third debate, although Tyler noted that the Trump campaign had previously agreed to a second presidential debate.
