What time is the VP debate? Here’s how to watch Tuesday’s Vance-Walz debate

When Republican JD Vance and Democrat Tim Walz collide in their first – and likely only – debate hosted by CBS News on Tuesday, both will seek to increase their visibility among the American public while making the case for their respective presidential candidates, Donald Trump and Kamala Harris.

Potential voters typically overlook a vice presidential debate, but the escalating war of words between Walz and Vance has drawn plenty of attention and voters are expected to watch them face off ahead of the Nov. 5 election.

Vance and Walz, both from the Midwest, will lean on their roots to prepare for the debate. The two men will try to convince voters that they understand the desires of Americans in the heartland but are sharply divided on political and social issues.

Here’s what you should know about the official duel between the vice presidential candidates.

When is the vice president debate on Tuesday, October 1st?

The 90-minute debate will take place at 6 p.m. PT on October 1 at the CBS Broadcast Center in Manhattan and will be moderated by “Evening News” anchor Norah O’Donnell and “Face the Nation” anchor Margaret Brennan.
