Ghost tours open in Athens

ATHENS, Ala. (WAFF) – It’s officially spooky season and the city of Athens is offering a great way to get in the spirit.

The city offers ghost tours through the historic part of the city.

The Athens Haunt Walk promises guests an experience full of local history and secrets. The tours last two hours and take place on Tuesdays or Thursdays in October.

If you’re looking for something even scarier, the city is also hosting a wagon tour on October 22nd with two rides, one at 5:30 p.m. and one at 7:30 p.m

Tours are led by local guides who share the spooky stories of the supposedly haunted landmarks and mysterious events that residents have told for generations.
