Applications for the Utility Assistance Program are now open

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – If you need help paying utility bills or rent, the Metro Action Commission (MAC) is now accepting applications for its utility assistance program.

You can get help with electricity, natural gas, water, rent and mortgage payments. According to MAC, the financing also covers the cost of prescriptions, property taxes, rent and utilities.

The amount of support ranges from $600 to $1,000, depending on the energy burden and household size. MAC says assistance will be provided for up to one month for help with rent and mortgage payments.

To qualify, certain qualifications must be met. Must be income eligible, live in Davidson County and meet other eligibility criteria.

Applications can be found on the Metro Action Commission website or by calling the agency’s call center at 615-862-8860.

Applications can also be obtained at the MAC headquarters at 1281 Murfreesboro Pike.

The aid program runs from October 1, 2024 to September 2025.

MAC said it distributes more than $7 million annually to about 10,000 Davidson County residents to cover utility costs.
