Where can you get it through the CSRA?

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – As communities recover from the damage caused by Hurricane Helene, many have found it difficult to find food.

We are with you at community events and organizations that provide food.

Here is a list of CSRA distributions where you can get free food:

  • Lowe’s in North Augusta will distribute ice cream from its garden center.
  • Starting at 9 a.m., cases of water will be distributed from the cities of Louisville, Wadley and Wrens: Old Armory at 1841 Highway 24 West in Louisville; Old Wadley High School at 47 West College Street in Wadley; Old Wrens High School at 101 Griffen Street in Wrens.
  • Starting at 11:30 a.m., ice cream was available at the Augusta Municipal Building, 535 Telfair St., while supplies last.
  • The Graniteville-Vaucluse-Warrenville Fire Department will be cooking food and distributing cases of water, one case per family, starting at 11 a.m
  • Those in line will receive free food from 1:30 p.m. until distribution at Piedmont Hospital, 1350 Walton Way.
  • As of 10 a.m., Mike Garrison of Compass For Hope tells us they have their shower trailers at Riverfront Gymnasium, where Dominion Energy has temporarily housed about 700 linemen. They also hope to feed 100 to 150 people.
  • The GreenJackets will open SRP Park to the public on Tuesday from noon to 5 p.m. They open the WOW! At the club, everyone can sit in the air conditioning, charge their phone, and from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. there are free hot dogs and drinks while supplies last. They will also distribute 1 10-pound bag of ice to those who need it while supplies last.
  • Starting at noon, Augusta Fire/EMA will host Operation BBQ and ice distribution at Southgate Plaza.
  • Wrens Police are handing out water and ice (two cases per vehicle) at the old middle school in Wrens.
  • The Salvation Army of Aiken, Allendale, Barnwell and Edgefield Counties on site around 12:30 p.m. to serve food to everyone in the community. This is free for the community.
  • The Salvation Army of Augusta is offering a free hot meal distribution at 4 p.m. Locations include Kroc Center at 1833 Broad Street, HUB for Community Innovation Augusta at 100 Grace Hopper Lane and Olmstead Homes at 2141 C Street. The rule here is: first come, first served.
  • Starting Tuesday, the Walmart Supercenter in Augusta at 260 Bobby Jones Expressway will serve free hot meals from noon to 5 p.m. Laundry will also be washed today and free ice cream will be distributed.
  • Koi Hibachi and Sushi is offering a free Hurricane Helene recovery meal at 3847 Washington Road from noon to 3 p.m.
