Nicole Kidman and Harris Dickinson explore the power dynamics in a risky romantic relationship in the trailer for the erotic thriller Baby girl.

A24 is releasing writer-director Halina Reijn’s feature in theaters nationwide on December 25, although the film is a bit hotter than the traditional holiday film. Also with Antonio Banderas and Sophie Wilde, Baby girl The focus is on Romy (Kidman), a feared CEO who begins a romance with Samuel (Dickinson), a much younger intern at her company.

“If we’re going to do this, we’re going to have to make some rules that we both agree on,” Dickinson instructs Kidman in the trailer. “First I tell you what to do and you do it.”

At a later point in the footage, Kidman tells her new boyfriend, “You’re very young. I don’t want to hurt you.” Dickinson replies, “Hurt me? I believe I have power over you because I could make one phone call and you lose everything. Does it turn you on if I say that?”

Reijn wrote and directed the film, which is her directorial follow-up to the 2022 horror comedy Body, body, body. Baby girl counts Reijn, David Hinojosa and Julia Oh among the producers.

Baby girl premiered at the Venice Film Festival in August. In his review for The Hollywood ReporterThe film’s chief critic, David Rooney, wrote that the film was “sexy, dark and unpredictable, with a tone that mixes tension and biting humor”.

He continued: “Kidman is in spectacular form, veering from outrage to fear to prurient approval.”

Kidman’s most recent credits include the features Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom And A family affairalong with the series The perfect couple And Expats. Dickinson is known for roles in the films Triangle of sadness, Where the crayfish sing And The Iron Clawin addition to his appearance in the series A murder at the end of the world.
