UND football is looking for two straight wins against North Dakota St.

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (Valley News Live) – It’s a rivalry with even more life in 2024, UND vs. NDSU. This week it’s a top 10 matchup as the Fighting Hawks look to defeat the Bison again.

This is a rivalry that brings extra energy to the football field.

“It’ll be pretty good for us to go in there and show we’re a new team,” linebacker Malachi McNeal said. “We have a new identity and we’re not worried about all the outside noise.”

“The rivalry is everything now,” offensive lineman Caleb Olson said. “Everywhere you go you are asked about it, but you can’t let it affect you as a player. As a fan it’s a big deal, but as a player you can’t let it affect you.”

“If we can just stay very, very in the moment, that will be critical for our team to really manage the emotions of the game,” head coach Bubba Schweigert said. “Staying in the moment is going to be really crucial.”

No. 7 North Dakota and No. 2 North Dakota St. battle on Saturday, and all eyes will be on the Fargodome at kickoff at 2:30 p.m.
