DETROIT – In the midst of an exciting game day for the Detroit Lions also came something that could impact the game’s viewership.

A nationwide Verizon outage has impacted customers across the country. Ford Field advised people with tickets to Monday night’s game that they should download their tickets before arriving on the field.

The Lions face the undefeated Seahawks on Monday night.

Seattle has won 30 of 42 games in the top-tier matchup, including a 14-4 victory since 2010.

The Lions have also lost to the Seahawks in each of the last three seasons under Campbell, losing six straight games in the series, including a playoff win in the 2016 season and early last season.

But something special in the air tonight could give the Lions a win.

Detroit wears its black uniforms, marking the first time wearing that color since former Lion Calvin Johnson collected passes for the franchise in 2007.

Johnson, also known as “Megatron,” is one of the greatest wide receivers in NFL history.

‌A Georgia Tech native, Johnson was drafted by the Lions in the first round in 2007. He set the NFL single-season receiving yardage record with 1,964 yards in 2012, was selected to six Pro Bowl teams and was selected to three First-Team All-Teams. Professional teams between 2010 and 2015.

He will be celebrated before Monday’s game with induction into the Pride of the Lions, which only 21 players have joined so far.

Gov. Gretchen Whitmer declared Monday “Megatron Day” in honor of the upcoming ceremony.
