Here’s how to watch Patrice: The Movie for free on Hulu

A new romantic comedy tells a new story about marriage equality. This time it is for people with disabilities. “Patrice: The film“is now available to stream on Hulu.

Check it out Hulu with a free trial or with that Disney package.

About the film:

Patrice Jetter describes herself as a totally cool person with a disability who could do almost anything. Anything except marrying the love of her life while keeping the same Social Security benefits.

In his late 50s, Jetter met Garry Wickham, who was also disabled. The two fell in love and Wickham popped the question, hoping to start a life together. But before they could take that step, they were told that getting married or even moving in together would mean a reduction in Social Security benefits and likely loss of Medicaid.

Instead, the couple opted for an engagement ceremony. “Patrice: The film” follows the couple after they make the risky decision that could still impact their benefits and future. Along the way, Jetter plays herself and recreates her formative moments in a theatrical way. Watch the film to learn the story of Jetter and Wickham and find out what will be done in the next fight for marriage equality.
