It sounds like Verizon’s huge service outage could be coming to an end on Monday.

The company used X (formerly Twitter) to share an update late Monday afternoon. According to the post, “cellular service restoration has begun” and the company apologizes for any inconvenience caused by the outage.

Millions of outage reports were filed with DownDetector alone, affecting a number of people across the United States

I can personally confirm that the failure was real. My phone lost service around noon ET and didn’t get it back until after 5:00 p.m

The Wi-Fi worked the entire time, but when I wasn’t near a router, I couldn’t access any data unless I used the iPhone’s SOS feature. This requires a clear view of the sky, and since I live in a city full of very tall buildings, this wasn’t the best solution.

But according to Verizon, the outage problems should soon be over.
