A Florida woman is facing criminal charges after she was accused of making sexually explicit video recordings of herself and her toddler at the request of a stranger on social media, authorities allege.

On Monday, September 23, the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office arrested Jenna Ann Hoffman, 21, of Brooksville and charged her with four counts, including lewd and lascivious molestation, victim under 12 years of age; promoting a child’s sexual performance; Possession of the sexual capacity of a child with intent to foster; unlawful use of a two-way communication device to facilitate crime, according to online court records.

According to a statement from the HCSO, authorities received a tip on Sept. 23 from “a popular social media platform” that included photos and videos of child abuse material. “The digital files showed a woman performing sexual acts with an infant,” the statement said.

Investigators went to Hoffman’s apartment, where a family member “immediately identified the teen as Hoffman’s 23-month-old child” in a still image from one of the videos, the sheriff’s office alleges.

After receiving her Miranda rights, Hoffman “confirmed that she did in fact commit the sexual acts with her child,” the sheriff’s office alleges.

Hoffman is being held without bail at the Hernando County Detention Center.
