The eldest child of Felipe and Letizia and presumptive heir to the Spanish throne. On October 31, 2003 – her 18th birthday – the Crown Princess took a public oath to her country. She promised to “faithfully carry out my duties, to respect and uphold the Constitution and the laws, and to respect the rights of citizens and autonomous communities, as well as loyalty to the King.”

She is currently enrolled at the General Military Academy of Spain in Zaragoza. Cameras covered the first day of her three years of military training in detail, and many praised her mature decision to actively prepare for the post of head of state of Spain. It is said that she will study law after the military academy.)

According to the website El Español, King Felipe’s eldest daughter – and the presumptive heir to the Spanish throne – is the most popular member of the royal family (even more popular than her father).

Infanta Sofia

Infanta Sofía is the title given to the reigning monarch’s daughter who is not the heir, similar to how “Princess Royal” is used in the United Kingdom. The 17-year-old is currently studying at the international baccalaureate school UWC Atlantic in Wales, England. She is expected to enroll in college next fall.
