49ers RB Jordan Mason nominated for FedEx Air & Ground NFL Players of the Week award

The San Francisco 49ers secured a 30-13 victory over the New England Patriots on Sunday, and running back Jordan Mason was recognized for his outstanding performance with a nomination for the FedEx Air & Ground NFL Player of the Week award.

Mason delivered an impressive performance, rushing for 123 yards and scoring a touchdown – his third 100-yard rushing game of the season. He also contributed with two receptions for 37 yards.

Mason’s nominees include Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels, Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield, Houston Texans quarterback CJ Stroud, Baltimore Ravens running back Derrick Henry and Chicago Bears running back D’Andre Swift .

Notably, 49ers wide receiver Jauan Jennings received this award after Week 3, becoming the first wide receiver ever to receive this award.

FedEx allows fans to recognize the best performances of players in the best positions each week by voting at nfl.com/voting/air-and-ground. Notably, there are no longer any position restrictions for the FedEx Air & Ground Players of the Week Awards. Regardless of position, the two players with the most votes will be named FedEx Air & Ground Players of the Week when voting closes at 12:00 p.m. PT on Wednesday.

FedEx will donate weekly donations of $2,000 in the names of the two winners ($4,000 total) to Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), providing need-based scholarships to deserving HBCU students throughout the season.
