Overall, the process is super simple. All you need to do is grab the Amazon products you want to return and then head to the nearest drop-off location. Don’t worry if you don’t have the box your items came in: you can still take your items to one of these locations to have them packed and shipped for free.

If you have all the shipping materials you need but would like to have your package picked up conveniently, you can do that too. Here are all the ways you can return your unwanted Amazon purchases. Further information can be found here Four ways to send your packages from home.

Return your package to Kohl’s or Staples

If you live near a Kohl’s or Staples store, returning on Amazon is easy. When you start the return process on Amazon, choose Kohl’s dropoff or Delivery of staples as your preferred option. Amazon will send you a QR code that you must bring with you when you enter the store (you can also show an image of the QR code on your phone).

Once you give the Kohl’s or Staples associate your return and show them the QR code, your items will be packaged, labeled and shipped for free. Even better? Sometimes the store will give you vouchers if you make your return there.

Whole Foods Market also accepts Amazon returns

You can also select Whole Foods Market as the drop-off location for your Amazon return. Please note that if your preferred store is not listed, your item or location may not be eligible. Additionally, only select stores offer unpackaged returns.

Once you’ve made your selection, Amazon will email you a QR code that a Whole Foods associate can scan. Grab that and the items you need to return and head to either the customer service counter or the Whole Foods returns kiosk. An employee will receive it there and send your package.

Drop off your items at the UPS Store

You can also drop off your returns at the UPS Store. When choosing the method to return your Amazon purchase, select Drop off at the UPS Store. You do not need to have your items packaged or labeled. Instead, the UPS Store will pack, label and ship your return for free. UPS will email you a return code in advance, which you must present to an employee. However, keep in mind that Amazon may charge a $1 fee if you choose UPS but there is another drop-off location nearby.

Have your package picked up by UPS

If your items are eligible for UPS pickup, you don’t even have to leave your house. When you start the return process on Amazon, follow the return instructions and select UPS pickup.

In this case, you will need to pack the items you are returning. However, UPS will provide you with the return shipping label. UPS will pick up your package the next business day, but you or another adult must be present. Please note that Amazon may charge you fees for this return option.

Go to a physical Amazon store

If you live near one Amazon store – Amazon Fresh or Amazon Go – you can hand in your return there. (Note that with Amazon is closing some of its physical storesit may be more difficult to find a location.) Select from Amazon Delivery to the Amazon Store. If the item cannot be returned to an Amazon store, you have other return options available.

Amazon will send you a QR code that you can show to an employee in the Amazon store. You must bring the items in the original manufacturer’s packaging. And when returning items to Amazon Fresh Pickup or an Amazon Hub Locker location, you must bring them in a box or pack them using the materials provided.

What about DoorDash?

DoorDash is testing a feature that allows you to request a Dasher to pick up your items and drop them off at a UPS, FedEx or USPS location. However, your items must already be packaged, sealed and accompanied by the prepaid return shipping label. Packages must weigh less than 30 pounds each and be valued at less than $500. The company hasn’t said when this option will be generally available; It is currently only available in select areas.
