Before Joker: Folie À Deux, IMAX speaks with filmmakers during pre-production

After half a decade of waiting, the long-awaited sequel to joker – Joker: Folie À Deux – is finally ready to hit theaters and fans couldn’t be more excited. Todd Phillips’ original masterpiece, which scored a rare genre nomination in the Best Picture category, has continued to grow in popularity since its initial theatrical release, and if the trailers are anything to go by, the second season looks just as bold . It looks really nice too.

Of course, credit for this eye-catching look goes to the talented crew that worked on the film. Cinematographer Lawrence Sher and everyone in his department did a fantastic job here executing Phillips’ vision, which makes frequent use of color, perspective and scale to enhance the story. To achieve this, they worked closely with IMAX, as the film was part of the premium format giant’s Filmed For IMAX program.
