When does early voting start in Indiana?

For the general election, early voting runs from Tuesday, October 8th to Monday, November 4th at 12 p.m.

How to vote early in Indiana

If you are already registered to vote and have a photo ID, you can vote early in person. Check with your county clerk for the location or visit the Indy Votes website.

How to vote by absentee or absentee ballot in Indiana

Voting by mail requires two exchanges with your county elections office: an application and a ballot.

First, fill out the application on the Secretary of State’s website. You can also pick up the application in person at your district’s elections office or call and ask for an application to be sent to you. Or you can apply online at indianavoters.in.gov.

Due to a new state law signed by Governor Eric Holcomb in 2023, you must provide identification with your application. This requirement can be met by a photocopy of your government-issued photo ID or by providing one of these four numbers on your application: Indiana driver’s license number, Indiana ID card number, unique voter identification number, or the last four digits of your Social Security number.

You then hand in your application personally to the district elections office by post, email or fax.
