Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. is affectionately known as Bobby Baseball for a reason.

With a .332 batting average in 161 games, he is officially the American League’s best hitter. He recorded 211 goals this season – the fifth-most in a single season for KC. He also became the first major league shortstop with consecutive 30-30 seasons.

With 61 multi-hit games, he also makes a strong case for AL MVP. He also set the Royals’ single-season record with 88 extra-base hits.

Now Witt will lead a new group of Royals into the postseason when Kansas City opens the AL Wild-Card Series in Baltimore on Tuesday.
