Harris says she would “double” DOJ resources to crack down on cartels

LAS VEGAS – Harris said yesterday that she would “double down” Justice Department resources to crack down on cartels and stop the flow of fentanyl into the United States, just hours after Trump repeated his false claim that she wanted to legalize the drug.

“As president, I will double the resources of the Department of Justice to pursue these transnational cartels and take action to stop the flow of fentanyl into our country that is destroying entire communities,” Harris said in her speech here.

She made similar comments Friday during her trip to the southern border in Arizona.

At a rally on Saturday, Trump also discussed fentanyl and baselessly claimed that Harris wanted to legalize it.

Former President Donald Trump is finally preparing for a full-throttle sprint in his bid to retake the White House.

According to an NBC News analysis of his schedule, Trump was caught flat-footed this month as Democrats switched horses and has held 26 campaign events this month – mostly rallies – more than the 21 he attended in June and July combined took part. The ramp-up began in August when he held 19 events.
