According to reports, Erik ten Hag will continue to manage Manchester United for the away games against FC Porto and Aston Villa. The Dutchman is under record-breaking pressure after a miserable Sunday night against Tottenham at Old Trafford, but retains the support of INEOS for now.

United’s second consecutive 3-0 home defeat in the Premier League – following Liverpool’s defeat on September 1 – heightened Ten Hag’s scrutiny to a new level.

It came a few days after a dull 1-1 draw with FC Twente, also at Old Trafford, and left the Red Devils in 12th place, closer to rock bottom than the top of the league.
