Lindsey Graham’s body language over Trump’s offensive remark says it all

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) on Sunday disparaged former president and current GOP nominee Donald Trump’s offensive claim that his Democratic rival in the 2024 election, Vice President Kamala Harris, is “mentally disabled.”

Trump falsely claimed at a rally this weekend that “Kamala is mentally retarded,” that President Joe Biden “was mentally retarded, Kamala was born this way,” and that “when you think about it, only a mentally retarded person could have allowed this to happen.” “Something happened” to our country.”

CNN’s Jake Tapper questioned Graham during the moment, telling the Trump loyalist: “Well, first of all, there are real people out there with mental disabilities, and this is an insult to them. Second, Vice President Kamala Harris is not mentally impaired.”

“No,” Graham agreed, adding, “I just think she’s crazy liberal.”

Tapper asked Graham about Trump’s rhetoric.

Graham threw up his hands, shrugged his shoulders and replied: “I just think the better way is to pursue the case that their policies are destroying the country. “They’re crazy liberals.”

Graham later said of Harris: “I’m not saying she’s crazy. I say that your party and your politics are completely crazy.”

“Well, those are not my guidelines,” Tapper clarified.
