Bowen Yang decides what is “Brat” or “Nat” in Charli XCX’s “SNL” sketch

It’s still brat summer for “Saturday Night Live.”

The late-night sketch comedy show returned for its 50th season on September 28 and featured Jean Smart in her hosting debut along with musical guest Jelly Roll.

During the groundbreaking season premiere, Bowen Yang embodied for audiences two of the internet’s biggest trends: Moo Deng and Charli

Yang competed against Charli XCX when she hosted her own talk show, appropriately called “Talk Talk,” named after a track on her latest album.

To get into the role, Yang portrayed the “Guess” singer in all her grunge glory, donning a black minidress and matching knee-high boots. Charli

Yang addressed the “lesson” topic on the talk show, months after Charli : What is brat?”

In the first segment of the talk show, Yang identified which recent events and happenings in pop culture could be considered “brat or nat.”

While Amy Adams received the title of “Brat” in the upcoming film “Nightbitch,” New York University received the rating of “Nat.”

Yang then invited two guests to the talk show, including Jean Smart as event producer Susanne Bartsch and CNN news anchor Kaitlan Collins, portrayed by Chloe Fineman.

Although Yang Fineman assured that “Talk Talk Show” was a political talk show, the hard-hitting questions about President Joe Biden’s speech to the United Nations General Assembly and reproductive rights went only to Smart.

At the end, Fineman answered soft news questions, including what she thought of Snoop Dogg as the new coach on “The Voice.”

During the skit, Yang was joined by Sarah Sherman, who portrayed Troye Sivan, Charli XCX’s co-headliner on their joint North American tour, “Sweat.”

Ego Nwodim also appeared on the talk show couch as Rep. Jasmine Crockett and got her own segment, “Jasmine Crockett’s Mean-Girl Cam,” to antagonize politicians – and gerrymandering – by giving them harsh nicknames.

The brat summer vibes continued behind the scenes at “SNL.”

In a video shared on the official TikTok for the late-night sketch comedy show, Yang and Sherman were seen participating in the viral “Apple” dance trend started by TikTok creator Kelley Heyer who commented on the video: “Oh my god, these divas!!!!”

“Bowen kills like he always does,” read another comment on TikTok.

One TikTok user called out the costume department at the show, writing, “Costume designers ate with the outfit replica.”
