Rohit Sharma reveals the only reason behind his retirement from T20Is

Team India captain Rohit Sharma retired from T20Is after leading the team to a win in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in Barbados. The veteran opener discussed how he prepares for each game and explained the specific reason behind his decision to retire from the T20I format.

Under Rohit’s captaincy, India ended an 11-year ICC trophy drought and won their first ICC title since 2013. India’s first T20 World Cup triumph came in 2007 under the leadership of MS Dhoni. The team took 17 years to secure its second T20 World Cup title, a milestone achieved under Rohit’s captaincy.

“The only reason I retired from T20Is is because I had my time. I enjoyed the format. I played for 17 years and did well. After winning the World Cup, this was the best time for me to decide now. “It’s time for me to move on and then worry about the other things. There are a lot of good players who can be good for India,” Rohit Sharma said on Jitendra Chouksey’s YouTube channel.

“Not many cricketers around the world have played five hundred games. To achieve this longevity, there has to be something to your routine. How to manage your fitness, how to manage your mind and how to train yourself. And how are you? “At the end of the day, our job is to be 100 percent ready for the game and perform to win games,” Rohit said.

Rohit Sharma has an outstanding record in T20 cricket: he played 151 innings and scored 4,231 runs at an average of 32.05. His achievements include 5 centuries and 32 half-centuries. Notably, the senior opener is the only Indian player to have won the T20 World Cup twice.
