Source – Alvin Kamara (hip, ribs) of the Saints plans to play against the Falcons

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara plans to play on Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons despite dealing with hip and rib injuries, a source tells ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Kamara, who is listed as questionable, is from Atlanta and does not want to miss a game in his hometown against an NFC South rival, the source said.

Chris Olave, the Saints’ star wide receiver, is also listed as questionable with a hamstring injury. A source told Schefter that Olave will test his hamstring during pregame warmups but that the Saints are “confident” he will play on Sunday.

Kamara enters Sunday as the NFL’s fourth-leading rusher with 285 yards in three games. In 13 career games against the Falcons, he has rushed for 802 yards on 174 carries (4.6 yards per carry) and three touchdowns.

After opening the season with a pair of wins in which they outscored their opponents 91-29, the Saints have struggled offensively, falling 2-1 in a 15-12 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles last week.

The Falcons (1:2) suffered a 22:17 defeat against the Kansas City Chiefs.
