OPD is investigating shooting that left one person injured

One person was injured after a shooting early Sunday. Omaha police are investigating a shooting that left one person injured near 14th and Howard streets. OPD said officers in the area heard a gunshot around 1:40 a.m. and responded to the scene to find 24-year-old Kennis Barfield with a gunshot wound. Barfield was taken to Nebraska Medical Center with a non-life-threatening injury. The investigation is ongoing. Barfield said he was shot by a black man with whom he had previously had an argument.
