Arshad Warsi explains his controversial comment on Prabhas’ performance

Arshad Warsi has spoken out after facing backlash over his comments on Prabhas’ role in Kalki 2898 AD. In an earlier interview, Arshad referred to Prabhas’ character as a “Joker”, sparking outrage among fans and members of the South African film industry. At a recent awards ceremony, the actor clarified that his comments were about the character and not about Prabhas as an actor.

During a recent conversation, Arshad explained, “I was talking about the character Bhairava, not Prabhas. He is a brilliant actor who has proven his talent time and time again.” He expressed his frustration that such strong actors sometimes get roles that do not match their potential, leading to disappointment among fans.

Arshad also reflected on the merging of different film industries in India and expressed delight at the diminishing language barriers. He stressed that the Indian film industry should be united, stating that its competition was in global cinema and not within regional industries.
