Liam Gallagher explains why Oasis won’t play Glastonbury in 2025

Liam Gallagher explains why Oasis won’t play Glastonbury in 2025

Liam Gallagher has revealed why Oasis will not be performing at Glastonbury 2025 following the legendary band’s reunion.

The Britpop heroes first announced their long-awaited reunion in August, with a long string of gigs across the UK and Ireland. They stated that these would be their only shows in Europe and announced that they would not be playing any festivals next year.

Responding to fan speculation that Oasis could potentially headline the annual Worthy Farm music party, the Gallagher brothers responded to whispers about Glasto in a post on social media. “Despite media speculation, Oasis will not be performing at Glastonbury 2025 or any other festivals next year,” they said. “The only opportunity to see the band perform will be on their Oasis Live ’25 World Tour.”

Now Liam has taken to

Back in July, Liam’s brother Noel voiced his opinion on Glastonbury, sharing that the festival was “a bit woke” for his tastes.

“Don’t get me wrong, I love Glastonbury,” he said The sun after the festival ends.

“It’s getting a little woke now, this place, and a little bit preachy and a little bit virtue signaling,” he continued. “I don’t like it in music, little idiots waving flags and making political statements, and bands coming on stage and saying, ‘Hey guys, isn’t war terrible, yeah?’ Let’s all boo the war. Fuck the Tories man and all that.”

The rock veteran, who was spotted near the stage watching LCD Soundsystem with Dave Grohl at this year’s edition, added: “It’s like you just play your damn songs and get out.”

Isle of Wight Festival boss John Giddings also weighed in on Oasis taking on Glasto, saying the band would likely turn down an offer to headline the festival due to the low artist fees.

Giddings spoke at “Experience 25” – an exhibition celebrating the history of IOW Fest – explained (via The mirror) that both his own festival and Glastonbury “can’t afford” to have Oasis as a headliner anyway “because they want money”.

The festival boss said other acts would, however, perform at Glastonbury “for 10p”.

In other news, support acts for Oasis’ 2025 reunion tour of the UK and Ireland have reportedly been announced.

According to an “exclusive” report from The IndependentSupport for the UK and Ireland concerts will come from former Verve frontman Richard Ashcroft and cast. The latter group recently opened for Liam’s 30th anniversary tour, Definitely Maybe.

Blossoms recently spoke to NME about the opportunity to support Oasis with them Live ’25 Appointments. It currently looks unlikely that Suede or Fontaines DC will be in the line-up after Liam beat both bands online.

In other news, Liam said he and Noel had no plans to do any interviews together in connection with the highly anticipated reunion. “We are afraid of the media asking us intrusive questions and trying to poke holes in our relationship,” he wrote.

Which cities have won multiple sports titles in one year?

Las Vegas may be known as Sin City, but in 2023 it was Win City as both the Vegas Golden Knights and Las Vegas Aces won their respective championships in a single calendar year. NBA League Pass offers fans worldwide the “Multiview” function

NBA League Pass offers fans worldwide the “Multiview” function

NBA League Pass is one of the NBA’s biggest products in well over a decade, offering fans around the world the opportunity to catch NBA action both live and through replays.

It’s no surprise that the league is once again offering new additions to its service. This year the focus is on Multiview, a feature that allows fans to watch four feeds simultaneously on connected devices.

The service was announced alongside a new original called Pass The Rock: Rookie Year Edition, which follows Victor Wembanyama’s journey from shining rookie to winning the Rookie of the Year award.

In recent years, NBA League Pass has become a major basketball hub for fans both in the United States and around the world. The league offers numerous shows, international league games and original programs. This included broadcasting French league games for the aforementioned Wembanyama when he played for the Metropolitans 92 the year before his arrival in the NBA.

As a result, the NBA has seen an increase in international audiences for its product, particularly in France, which has become the world’s largest producer of NBA talent outside of the United States.

Cooper Flagg, the expected top draft pick in next year’s 2025 NBA Draft, was also heavily featured on the platform before he entered Duke University, which has been atypical for the NBA in the past. This pivot has significantly increased the exposure of young players, giving fans an early look at the game.

Jeff Geels, NBA Senior Vice President, Head of DTC Business, Direct to Consumer Products, Technology & Operations, agreed to an interview with Forbes.com about the status of NBA League Pass heading into the 2024-2025 season.

NBA League Pass has expanded significantly in recent years and has become a kind of basketball Netflix with original programming. Has this always been the league’s vision for League Pass, and if so, could you describe the day-to-day process of building the service?

“When we launched the redesigned NBA app in 2022, we designed the platform with the vision of making it the official home of basketball for our fans worldwide. The idea was to make the NBA app the one-stop shop for all things basketball, be it watching live games on NBA League Pass, accessing all the historical and current behind-the-scenes footage, real-time highlights, or pushing new boundaries when it comes to developing a technology-oriented app.

Every day, our teams of technology professionals and creative specialists work hand in hand to combine world-class features with the unprecedented amount of footage captured across the league throughout the year. As we head into another NBA season, we’re excited to take the NBA app experience to new levels with a range of new features and content designed to make it easier than ever for fans to keep up with the league .”

After trying Multiview on Apple TV, it’s surprisingly intuitive how games are added and how the audio feed changes depending on the remote’s movement. What was the thought process behind Multiview, and could you expand the internet demands of watching four games at once?

“We are constantly looking for ways to reshape the way fans watch games, and Multiview in the NBA app was the natural next step for us. We know that fans often follow multiple players and teams throughout the season. That’s why we’ve been very focused on helping our fans get to the games they care about most as quickly as possible. This – coupled with League Pass’ industry-leading latency – will deliver a significantly improved fan experience.”

Given the aforementioned expansion of NBA League Pass over the years, it’s strange that built-in apps aren’t available on most smart TV brands. Do you plan to do this to compete more with, for example, DAZN, which offers NFL Game Pass?

“NBA League Pass is available on select smart TVs and we plan to expand it further in the future. Making NBA games as accessible as possible across all possible platforms has long been a priority and we are focused on identifying unique ways to deliver the excitement of the league to our fans.”

We’ve already seen significant year-over-year growth in League Pass subscriptions, particularly internationally. With so many European superstars in the NBA at the same time, has this growth continued into the 2024-2025 season?

“There is no doubt that the incredible level of international talent – not just the quantity but also the quality – has helped fuel interest in the NBA from fans in different regions of the world. Europe is no exception. In fact, the 2023-24 regular season delivered record-breaking engagement in Europe and the Middle East (EME) across the NBA App, NBA League Pass and the league’s 18 localized social media accounts in EME. Notably, the NBA recorded its most-watched season ever across the league’s social and digital platforms in EME, surpassing 1 billion video views for the first time in the region. Additionally, NBA League Pass viewership increased by 177% in France. There is so much momentum surrounding the game of basketball, especially after the highly competitive and captivating Olympics last summer, and we look forward to building on the success of last season.”

The NBA has used League Pass to showcase prospects who are not currently playing in the league. Victor Wembanyama’s games from the French LNB and most recently Cooper Flagg, who is expected to be a top pick in next year’s draft. What was the reason for this internal shift in acceptance of players outside of the NBA and how did the consumer respond to these additions?

“We launched the NBA Future Starts Now digital program on the NBA app to introduce fans to the next generation of basketball stars and give them the opportunity to observe emerging talent. As part of this initiative, fans had the opportunity to see Wembanyama play in person before he even reached the NBA and become familiar with his game and unique skills. Similarly, Cooper Flagg was introduced while competing in various elite basketball competitions as well as USA Select Team duels in the summer before the Olympics. Ultimately, we have a very knowledgeable and passionate fan base and we know they are interested in content that highlights the basketball landscape as a whole – beyond just the NBA. In that sense, NBA Future Starts Now serves an important purpose.”

How to deal with a teenager who saw a banned film.

How to deal with a teenager who saw a banned film.

Dear care and feeding,

My 11 year old daughter had a movie night for her best friend’s birthday. That was Saturday evening. I heard earlier that they would watch two films suitable for an October party: Coraline And The nightmare before Christmas. My daughter has seen both films before and wasn’t frightened by either of them. In general, she takes “scary movies” well (although I compare her to her brothers, one of whom was afraid of them Confused).

On the drive home from the birthday party, she broke down and said they had been watching Nightmare before Christmas And …

Scream. It sounds like the kids were in the basement eating pizza and cake between movies and then the parents stopped checking on the kids until it was time to go home. Since then she has behaved differently. She says the film didn’t scare her, but it was what it was Was very bloody and disturbing. She usually loves being alone in her room, but she spends as much time as possible in the living room and gets annoyed when no one else is there. She is nervous when she showers or sleeps alone. She will worry if she hasn’t seen a family member for a long time.

I’m really not sure what to do here. I sneaked into the theater to see it Scream when I was in high school, but that’s a completely different situation and I wasn’t as traumatized, for lack of a better word. My husband and I disagree about whether we should punish her further. We’re also not sure whether to talk to the hostess’s parents about this (we both agree on how much we trust her parents after this) or the parents of the other guests at the party. And I have no idea how to help my daughter.

– Still screaming

Dear Still,

First, continue to discipline her? For what? She was at a party and someone was making a scary movie, which she told you about almost immediately. You definitely shouldn’t discipline her. Her daughter was scared, she’s still a little shaken from the experience, and she doesn’t need to be punished for that.

Feel free to reach out to the other parents, too, although I think they almost certainly already know – yes, that this party is already notorious among the kids’ peers and everyone in the neighborhood. And I wouldn’t treat the birthday boy’s parents too harshly. Could they have checked more carefully which film the children were watching? Secure. But the kids were down in the basement where they belong and the parents were upstairs where they belong, and sometimes eleven-year-olds outsmart their parents. That’s how it works.

By and large, these are small potatoes. Your daughter saw a movie she wasn’t ready for, which has happened to almost every child in America since the invention of the VCR – and relatively few of those children have suffered permanent scars as a result. And during Scream is definitely too much for most 11 year olds, as you will recall from your own experience with the well-known horror classic Confused that you really never know what movie will freak out a child. (My wife slept on the floor in her little brother’s room as a girl for a year after watching a particularly scary movie The Wizard of OzTheir logic was that if the flying monkeys came, they would kidnap an easy-to-carry baby before kidnapping it themselves.)

Be kind and gentle to your little girl. Let her hang out with you in the living room. Buy her a night light and sit with her a few times when you go to bed. I assure you that within a week or two—or maybe a little longer if she’s like my wife—she’ll feel better and this event will become a crucial, vividly remembered part of her own story about the creation of pop culture becomes.

Meryll Rogge Boxers Bloomer Trend Rihanna Dua Lipa 2024

Meryll Rogge Boxers Bloomer Trend Rihanna Dua Lipa 2024

At NYLON we’re a bit underwear obsessed. At the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show on October 15, we saw hours of lace and glitter, we declared sheer bras the styling hack of the summer, and underwear as outerwear continues to dominate both the runways and street style. In recent months, a new reigning champion of popular boxer shorts has emerged: Belgian designer Meryll Rogge, whose striped and checked bloomers have been worn in their own unique way by the likes of Dua Lipa, Rihanna and Chloë Sevigny.

Rogge founded her own brand in 2020 with a desire to bring nostalgia and a sense of irreverence to women’s fashion. Her individual take on fashion balances men’s fashion with women’s lingerie and makes sense for street style daredevils like Riri. Mrs. Fenty wore her Meryll Rogge to Coachella in April 2024 with an extremely full wrap skirt and a cropped Vaquera T-shirt, ensuring that her lower stomach and boxer waist were exposed for a desert-meets-lower-Manhattan look -Outfit. Sevigny showed up for her performance The Drew Barrymore Show in a look from the brand’s Fall/Winter 2024 show, featuring striped suit brown boxers and a blue hoodie. She made the look her own, as she always does, with a Victorian half-updo.

Dua, on the other hand, was on a boat (when isn’t this girl on a body of water?) wearing her Meryll Rogge checkered boxers and matching button-down shirt that she wore over her bikini. (We are already designing our bikini styling tricks for summer 2025). The diversity of these three clothing-obsessed divas shows that you can adapt the bloomer trend to your own style without looking like a kid in a diaper—though that’s part of the campy vibe that Sevigny pulls off so well. My fashion rumor mill (aka my Instagram DMs) tells me that Rogge is on the short list of designers to replace Dries Van Noten at his eponymous label. If both her four years designing strangely enchanting and totally wearable fashion for her eponymous label and her celebrity fans have anything to do with it, she’ll be taking her bow on the brand’s runway very soon.

YouTube now tells you whether videos were “taken with a camera” — because so many aren’t

(AFP via Getty Images)

YouTube will now tell its users when videos are “taken with a camera,” as many of them are not.

The captions appear below the videos along with the message “How this content was created.” “This content was recorded using a camera or other recording device,” it says.

The labels are a response to the rise of artificial intelligence and the threat videos created with it could pose. Numerous experts have pointed out that labeling videos that are real or not real can help prevent people from being misled by fake footage.

The videos use a standard called the C2PA standard, which allows various platforms to make it clear whether a video has been edited or whether it is authentic. For example, some camera companies have integrated the technology into their cameras, allowing YouTube to automatically detect whether the video was actually shot on a device.

Videos can be edited and still receive the tag. However, they may not be edited in a way that makes “significant changes” to its “core character or content” or makes it impossible to trace the video to its origin.

Google had already allowed YouTube users to press a button that identified their videos as “altered or synthetic content” so they could label their own AI creations. But the new system works in exactly the opposite way: it allows users to label real videos and relies on technical systems designed to make lying more difficult.

Buzz Williams previews the impact of the Texas A&M transfers

Buzz Williams previews the impact of the Texas A&M transfers

Texas A&M Aggies men’s basketball head coach Buzz Williams spoke to reporters at SEC Media Days in Birmingham, AL. Tuesday and as always he had his unique way with words.

Whether he was comparing Texas A&M guard Wade Taylor IV to Michael Jackson or joking with the media from the podium, Williams continues to be one of the most interesting voices among SEC coaches. However, it was his clearly worded comments about Texas A&M’s transfer additions that perhaps stood out the most.

The Aggies brought Zhuric Phelps from SMU, Pharrel Payne from Minnesota and CJ Wilcher from Nebraska from the portal this offseason, adding experience to an already deep roster expected to compete in the SEC. Williams said all three transfers address major areas of need and that they all have a role intended for them.

“I think the staff has done a really good job of researching what our team needs,” Williams said. “Zhuric Phelps, Pharrel Payne and CJ Wilcher address the things we need most. All three will play a role on our team.”

Last season at SMU, Phelps averaged 14.8 points, a career-high 4.1 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game while starting 32 of 33 games for the Mustangs. Meanwhile, Payne averaged 10.0 points, 6.1 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 32 appearances for Minnesota. Wilcher brings four years of college experience to College Station. He began his career at Xavier before playing the last three seasons at Nebraska. He averaged 7.7 points in 33 games and two starts last year.

“We tried to balance the transfers and the young guys,” Williams said. “It’s a juggling act and I don’t think there’s an exact science. The older you are relative to your body and abilities is a competitive advantage.”

No. 13 Texas A&M will open the regular season on Monday, Nov. 4 at UCF.
