Boston United: Match report – FC Halifax Town

Boston United: Match report – FC Halifax Town

FC Halifax Town took all three points after a fighting away performance.

Adan George was the only change for Town as they faced Boston United in the Vanarama National League.

It took less than a minute for the only goal of the game to come, and it was for the Shaymen. Andrew Oluwabori drove along the left side; He got around his man and then hit back before firing a shot towards goal, but it deflected on its way through the goal. This was his second goal of the season, having scored against Dagenham and Redbridge in August.

Actually, everything should have been clear just a few minutes later. A shot from Cameron Green landed at the back post for Michael Bostwick, whose diving header narrowly missed the target. Scott High then had two shots on goal that were brilliantly blocked, meaning Halifax didn’t have a second chance.

A defensive blunder gave Sam Osborne the chance to attack the goal; He rounded Sam Johnson but the ball ran out of the pitch, much to the relief of the Town defense.

A corner from Halifax provided the next chance of the game; Boston keeper Aidan Stone missed a shot. Adam Senior tried to take advantage of this, but his header flew over the woodwork.

Scott High received the game’s first yellow card for kicking the ball away after half an hour. A few moments later, Oluwabori launched a wonderful, free-flowing counter-attack that gave High the chance to attack, but his attempt went wide.

Just before halftime, Boston received its first yellow card of the game when Finley Welch, making his debut, saw his name added to the tally for a foul on Senior.

Oluwabori once again found himself free on the left, which had been a lucrative source of joy for Halifax in the first half; This time, however, his shot at goal was high and wide.

Osborne had two good chances to equalize for the home team shortly after the restart; The first came after a good run down the right, but a brilliant block from Jo Cummings prevented an inevitable goal. Osborne then had space again, but his shot went just wide of Johnson’s goal.

Coates then beat Johnson with a loose ball, leaving the goal gaping, but a brilliant goal-line clearance from Will Smith kept the game in Halifax’s favour. The resulting corner then gave Bostwick the chance to score, but his header missed the target.

For the second time in the game, Town received a yellow card for kicking the ball away; This time Adan George was the suspect.

Both teams made the first changes of the game after an hour: Owen Bray replaced Scott High for the visitors and Jai Rowe came on for Kieran Coates for Boston. Then Jamie Cooke was called for a foul on Welch.

With twenty minutes to go, Welch opted for Keaton Ward, whose tame effort was confidently collected by Johnson.

Both teams then made another switch to the bench as Halifax substituted Florent Hoti and Adam Adetoto in place of Jamie Cooke and Oluwabori. Boston brought in wingers Oluwalopemiwa Aderoju and Frankie Maguire. This was Adetoro’s first game back since Maidenhead United in September.

Boston had a huge chance to equalize late through Rowe; He had plenty of space at the back post but his attempt was blocked. Seconds later, Welch took aim, but his shot bounced off the post.

Halifax had to play three minutes of added time with just ten men as Adan George received a second yellow card for dissent. Despite this, the Shaymen defended brilliantly to survive the game and earn their sixth win of the season.

Lakers rookie Quincy Olivari gets emotional as he talks about playing in front of “favorite player of all time” Steph Curry

Lakers rookie Quincy Olivari gets emotional as he talks about playing in front of “favorite player of all time” Steph Curry

Los Angeles Lakers guard Quincy Olivari led all players with 22 points in a 132-74 loss to the Golden State Warriors on Friday night.

It was an impressive performance from the undrafted Olivari, who played his college ball at Rice and Xavier as he looks to earn a spot on the Lakers’ roster. Olivari’s night meant even more to him considering who was watching from the Warriors’ bench.

Stephen Curry did not play in the game and is Olivari’s favorite player. When Olivari was asked afterwards what it was like to meet his idol and play in front of him, he burst into tears.

“It’s crazy because that’s my favorite player ever,” said the 23-year-old Olivari. “The first thing he said to me was, ‘I’m a big fan of your game,’ and to be honest, I’m a big fan of his. I had his jersey; he signed it twice. I always slept under it.” I wanted to be like him so much.

After the game, Olivari posted photos on Instagram of himself posing with Curry on Friday, the signed shoes the four-time NBA champion gave him and one of a younger Olivari wearing a Curry jersey for Christmas.

Olivari also included a video of himself getting a jersey signed by the two-time NBA MVP as a child.

Curry commented on Olivari’s post, saying, “It’s my pleasure bro. I appreciate you being a real person and letting me know the story!”

It was a dream come true for Olivari on Friday night when he met Curry. Next on his list is securing a spot on the NBA roster as the regular season begins Tuesday night.

Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa will reportedly return to practice on Wednesday with an eye on the start of Week 8

Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa will reportedly return to practice on Wednesday with an eye on the start of Week 8

Tua Tagovailoa plans to return to practice with the Miami Dolphins on Wednesday, and if all goes well, he could start Week 8 against the Arizona Cardinals.

According to Diana Russini of The Athletic, Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel told players that Tagovailoa’s practice window opens on Wednesday and the quarterback intends to attend. Barring any setbacks, Tagovailoa would start Oct. 27.

“As far as the schedule goes, I know he’s not playing this week,” McDaniel said this week. “I do expect to see him playing football in 2024, but where exactly that is, we will let the process continue.”

Tagovailoa suffered his third concussion in two years in the Dolphins’ Week 2 loss to the Buffalo Bills. His recent brain injury once again caused him to consider retirement to protect his health. But after consulting with independent neurologists, he has no intention of retiring.

Without Tagovailoa, the Dolphins’ offense has struggled, going 0-3 since the 26-year-old quarterback was injured. Tyler Huntley, whom the Dolphins acquired after placing Tagovailoa on injured reserve, has struggled in his last two games, throwing for 290 yards, no touchdowns and one interception.

The Dolphins’ offense as a whole has been called into question since Tagovailoa left the lineup. Miami has averaged just 10 points per game since Week 2, and their top two wide receivers – Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle – haven’t topped 70 yards since both scored over 100 yards in Week 1.

The 2-3 Dolphins return from their bye week to face the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday.

College Football Week 8 scores, games, updates: Miami at Louisville, Nebraska at Indiana and more

College Football Week 8 scores, games, updates: Miami at Louisville, Nebraska at Indiana and more

Week 8 is a big week for the SEC.

Saturday features two games between top-11 opponents and could go a long way in deciding who plays for the conference title in Atlanta in December. Of the four, only No. 1 Texas is undefeated. No. 5 Georgia, No. 7 Alabama and No. 11 Tennessee each have a loss.

But there is also a lot to watch outside of the SEC.

Here’s what to keep an eye on in Week 8. All times are Eastern Time and all odds are from BetMGM.

Time: Noon | TV: ABC | Line: Miami -4.5 | Total: 61.5

Is Miami in danger of a third close game in a row? Louisville has won its last two games as an underdog at home, and both wins came against ranked opponents. No player in college football has more than Cam Ward’s 23 total touchdowns. If Miami can avoid Saturday’s upset and Ward has a fantastic game, its Heisman campaign will be in an even stronger position.

Time: 3:30 p.m. | TV: ABC | Line: Alabama -3 | Overall: 56.5

The Crimson Tide are the away favorites in Knoxville as the Vols’ offense is coming off a difficult two weeks. UT has been plagued by penalties and sacks, but the Crimson Tide have their own issues. After the away defeat at Vanderbilt, Alabama was only able to defeat South Carolina in the last game with a 27:25 victory. Tennessee has one of the best defenses in the SEC. Will Alabama have answers right from the start?

Time: 3:30 p.m. | TV: CBS | Line: Michigan -3 | Overall: 43.5

This has the makings of a slugfest; Just look at the over/under. Jack Tuttle replaced Alex Orji in UM’s Week 6 loss to Washington and will be Michigan’s third starting quarterback of the season in the Wolverines’ seventh game. Michigan will obviously try to run the ball as often as possible. And that could be a good strategy against Illinois.

Time: 7 p.m. | TV: ESPN | Line: LSU -3 | Overall: 55.5

This three-point line is no coincidence. The last four games of this series were decided by exactly three points. The Razorbacks are playing their third straight opponent after losing to Texas A&M and beating Tennessee. LSU QB Garrett Nussmeier had his toughest game of the season in the Tigers’ OT win over Ole Miss in Week 7, but it was still a win thanks to the Tigers’ defense.

Time: 7:30 p.m. | TV: ABC | Line: Texas -4.5 | Overall: 55.5

Georgia’s second big road test of the season is the most important game of the weekend. The top-ranked Longhorns earned a blowout win over Oklahoma in Quinn Ewers’ first start since Week 3. It’s not an exaggeration to say that Georgia needs Carson Beck’s best game of the season to get the win. Ewers became more comfortable as the Oklahoma game progressed, but Texas’ biggest strength was its running game.

Former Bruin eliminated from NBA exhibition game

Former Bruin eliminated from NBA exhibition game

The UCLA Bruins have always had a large presence in the NBA, represented by several basketball legends such as Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Reggie Miller, Bill Walton, Russell Westbrook and Jrue Holiday.

Now it appears another Bruin is making his presence known.

In an exhibition game on Thursday, October 17, Minnesota Timberwolves guard Jaylen Clark recorded 11 points, four rebounds, four steals and one assist over 21 minutes in a 132-126 loss to the Denver Nuggets.

This is a return to form for the talented guard after he tore his Achilles tendon during his final season at UCLA.

Early in his basketball career, Clark developed into a two-way threat, excelling equally on defense and offense. In high school, he led Etiwanda High in Rancho Cucamonga to the CIF Southern Section Open Division regional finals, averaging 18.5 points, 6.4 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game.

Clark joined UCLA Basketball in 2020 and served as a reserve guard his freshman year. In 31 games, he averaged nine minutes with 2.5 points, 2.4 rebounds and 0.2 assists per game.

In the 2021–2022 season, Clark missed six games due to concussions and played most of the games on the bench. In 29 games, he averaged 18.1 minutes with 6.7 points, 3.8 rebounds, one assist and 1.1 steals per game. He was named to the 2022 Pac-12 All-Defensive Team.

Clark really showed his skills in his junior year. As an official starter, Clark played an average of 30.5 minutes with 13 points, six total rebounds and 1.9 assists per game. He also led the Pac-12 Conference with 2.6 steals per game.

Clark received numerous awards his junior year, including Naismith Defensive Player of the Year, National Association of Basketball Coaches Defensive Player of the Year and Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year.

Unfortunately, Clark’s season ended abruptly when he tore his Achilles tendon in UCLA’s final regular season game against Arizona. This would rule him out of both the 2023 Pac-12 Tournament and the 2023 NCAA Tournament.

Nevertheless, Clark declared for the 2023 NBA Draft and was selected by the Timberwolves with the 53rd overall pick in the second round. On July 7, 2023, he signed a two-way contract with the organization.

On March 28, 2024, Clark was traded to the Iowa Wolves of the NBA G League for rehab.

Now it looks like Clark will be accepted into the NBA proper. Hopefully he will become an integral part of Minnesota’s already dynamic defense.

What’s your favorite cult classic movie?

What’s your favorite cult classic movie?

What is the best Friday the 13th movie?

It’s officially Friday the 13th, which means everyone should be having a Friday the 13th movie marathon. Unfortunately, not all of them are worth the watch, particularly the strange switch to sci-fi, Jason X. Though the original Friday the 13th is a great movie that sets up the rest of the franchise, I think Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter is the best of the bunch. The Final Chapter is a great slasher film with a cool 80s feel to it. I’d consider it an instant classic.

What would be Avengers: Secret Wars’ best superhero team-up?

Avengers: Secret Wars has the potential to feature a wide array of MCU and multiverse heroes. In order to defeat Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom, many powerful heroes will have to team up, and that could include some pairings that fans have been waiting to see for a very long time. The superhero duo I most want to see is Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man with Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, as the two helped set the path for future Marvel movies. I’d also love to see Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man with a Spider-Woman version of Emma stone’s Gwen Stacy, bringing their chemistry back.

Where was Ahsoka during the original trilogy?

In the 40 years since the original trilogy ended, Star Was has introduced a number of iconic characters across its long-ranging timeline, and The Clone Wars’ Ahsoka remains one of fans’ favorites. Following a hiatus in her tenure, Ahsoka has recently been seen in the Mandalorian post-Empire era, leaving many to wonder where she was during the original trilogy of movies. Given Ahsoka was still so rattled by her master’s turn to the Dark Side, it seems likely she was in hiding in the same vein as Obi-Wan Kenobi while she better honed her skills.

Who should Henry Cavill play in the MCU after Deadpool & Wolverine’s Cavillrine cameo?

Deadpool & Wolverine delivered on a bit of fan-casting with Henry Cavill appearing as a multiverse version of Hugh Jackman’s X-Men hero. While it seems unlikely he’ll reprise the role beyond the movie, fans have been sharing their thoughts on who Cavill should play in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since he made his debut as Superman in the DC Extended Universe’s Man of Steel. Though Captain Britain and Cyclops remain the more popular choices, I personally think it would be intriguing to see him either play Nova, particularly since there’s a TV show in the works for the character, or even Mephisto, as I think he could both deliver on the Devil’s power as much as evil charm.

Who should take over playing Freddy Krueger in A Nightmare On Elm Street?

Robert Englund recently confirmed that he would not be playing Freddy Krueger in the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise again in the future beyond a potential animated movie, leaving the door open for someone else to take on the role. Though the prior attempt to relaunch the franchise with the Jackie Earle Haley-led 2010 remake was largely dismissed by critics, Haley’s performance has stood out as one of the few good things about it for me, and I would certainly be open to him coming back. If not, other people I think would be great are Englund’s own secondary pick, Kevin Bacon, particularly as it would be a fun full-circle moment to see him go from slasher victim in the original Friday the 13th to an iconic slasher, Richard Brake, who is often incredibly haunting in the indie horror genre sphere, or if they want to go in a more quippy direction as the later sequels did, I would love to see Doug Jones or Matthew Lillard.

Could Zack Snyder’s Justice League movies continue in some form?

Zack Snyder has teased a theatrical event for fans to watch his Justice League movie. Despite the impending arrival of James Gunn’s new DC Universe, there are still vocal fans who want to see Snyder finish his vision for the Justice League. While the campaign to get the “Snyderverse” on Netflix is unlikely to work, there is a more realistic way for fans to experience Snyder’s plans for the Justice League sequels. Snyder has said that he would enjoy bringing his vision to DC Comics, and a limited series that concludes his Justice League plans could be a major success.

When will the Sonic the Hedgehog 3 trailer release?

After a two-year wait, Sonic the Hedgehog 3’s release is finally right around the corner, currently set for a December 20 date, and yet no proper trailer has been released for the threequel by Paramount, save for a brief snippet of footage shown at CinemaCon in April. Though there is some concern this is pointing to a release date delay, I think it’s more likely Paramount is saving the trailer to be released around the same time as Transformers One, given the prequel’s family-friendly tone and leaving just enough time until Sonic the Hedgehog 3’s arrival to build anticipation.

Has The Monsterverse become too Kong-focused?

Despite kicking off the franchise with Godzilla, the Monsterverse has steadily become more focused on Kong than any of the other monsters and Titans, particularly with Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire and Skull Island on Netflix. As the franchise gears up to expand with a new movie, Monarch season 2 and Apple TV+ spinoffs, some are hoping for Godzilla to return to the focus, and I couldn’t agree more. With each new movie, Kong has been fleshed out as a hero while Godzilla’s ties to humanity have remained ambiguous, and it’s time for him to get the same treatment.

Why did Harold and the Purple Crayon flop?

The live-action adaptation of Harold and the Purple Crayon is officially a box office flop, having made only $9 million in its global opening. Oddly enough, it has a strong 92% Audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes against just a 25% Critic rating. Critics have called it bleak and boring, but audiences overwhelmingly see it as a fun family movie. Unfortunately, it’s competing with box office juggernaut Inside Out 2. Sony probably would have been better off releasing Harold and the Purple Crayon in the winter, as it’s a strange choice for a summer movie.

Who should play Batman in James Gunn’s DCU?

I’m not huge on many of the common casting ideas for Batman in The Brave and the Bold movie, but one star who’s caught my eye is Lee Pace. He’s the right age for an older Batman to fit the DCU’s story, and he’s got the physicality to be one of the most imposing iterations of the character, much like Affleck’s.

Who should play the DCU’s new Wonder Woman?

Gal Gadot is reportedly not coming back as the Wonder Woman of the new DC Universe. With the role up for grabs, there are a few actors who could take Diana Prince in interesting directions. A fan-favorite, Alexandra Daddario would nail the Greek mythology aspects of Wonder Woman’s character after her role in the two Percy Jackson movies. That said, Andor’s Adria Arjona is the candidate I currently like the most for the role, being able to imbue Diana with charisma and fierceness, which are both traits of the hero. Ana de Armas would be a great high-profile Wonder Woman choice.

What villain should Tom Holland’s Peter Parker fight in Spider-Man 4?

Kevin Feige recently confirmed that the first drafts of the script for Tom Holland’s Spider-Man 4 are gearing up to be turned into the studio, creating excitement for the MCU webslinger’s return, as well as curiosity as to what villain he’ll face off against next. With so many already set up in previous movies, I think it would be the most intriguing to actually see Scorpion finally return to get revenge against Peter after the events of Homecoming, particularly with the MCU’s grounded twists to its iconic Spider-Man villains thus far.

Which game character should Sonic the Hedgehog 3 introduce?

Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is right around the corner and all eyes are on the incoming arrival of Shadow the Hedgehog, who will be voiced by Keanu Reeves. That said, though, there are a number of cast actors whose roles have yet to be confirmed, as well as a variety of game characters who have yet to appear in the franchise. I personally am holding out hope for Amy to appear to see how the filmmakers tackle that dynamic, and the already-cast Krysten Ritter could prove an interesting take on the character.

Who should play Rogue in the MCU’s X-Men reboot?

As development continues on the Marvel Cinematic Universe-set reboot of the X-Men franchise, fans continue to voice their picks for who should play the iconic mutant superhero team, including Rogue. While some minds may gravitate to the likes of Jenna Ortega or Millie Bobby Brown for the role, I’d personally be intrigued to see Mckenna Grace’s take on the character, as she’s not only shown an incredible acting range in the recent Ghostbusters movie and A Friend of the Family, but also an interesting mix of introverted and extroverted personalities with her characters that I think would suit Rogue perfectly. Additionally, given the MCU has recast actors in the past, Grace’s prior role as a young Carol Danvers could easily be a non-issue.

Why did Agatha All Along recast Billy Maximoff?

Julian Hilliard played Billy Maximoff, one of Wanda and Vision’s sons, in both WandaVision and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. However, Agatha All Along has now revealed that Joe Locke’s mysterious “Teen” is none other than Billy. While the character was referred to as Billy Maximoff in Agatha All Along’s midseason trailer, I believe that the MCU will explain the situation like the comics did, with the Scarlet Witch’s son’s soul being reincarnated in Billy Kaplan’s body. By it being a different body with the soul of Wanda’s son, Locke could then play Billy Maximoff instead of Hilliard.

Who should play Dick Grayson/Nightwing in the DCU?

James Gunn has confirmed that Bat-Family members will appear in the DCU’s Batman reboot movie The Brave and the Bold. A Robin animated movie, Dynamic Duo, has also been announced, featuring Dick Grayson and Jason Todd, though it has not been confirmed for the DCU. I believe that if the animated film is part of the DCU, then it will be set in the past, as Damian Wayne’s role in The Brave and the Bold asks for Dick to already be Nightwing. Based on that, I would love to see fan-favorite Dylan O’Brien or The Winchesters’ Drake Rodger as Nightwing.

Should Gal Gadot be the DCU’s Wonder Woman?

The new DC Universe has yet to announce who will play its Wonder Woman. However, all signs point to Gal Gadot — like the rest of the DCEU’s Justice League cast — being out of the role. While I mostly liked Gadot’s Wonder Woman, I don’t think she was the definitive casting for the character. As such, I think casting a new actor as the DCU’s Wonder Woman would be the ideal move, making way for a new era for Diana Prince, perhaps with a bigger focus on her Greek ties. Hit Man’s Adria Arjona would be a great choice.

Is Leonardo DiCaprio stuck in the dream world in Inception’s ending?

Fewer movie endings remain as hotly debated as that of Inception’s, in which Leonardo DiCaprio’s Cobb chooses to ignore the spinning top to determine if he’s awake or dreaming, and simply embrace seeing his children again. Christopher Nolan has frequently indicated that the emotion of the scene is far more important than the logistical one, while various cast members have weighed in with their theories. While I do agree with Nolan that the actual answer doesn’t necessarily matter, since it’s an emotional moment either way, I do think there are enough clues to the ending being set in the real world, including Michael Caine’s Stephen being present, given he was never featured in any of the dream sequences.

What are your predictions for Married At First Sight season 18?

Married At First Sight season 18 is just getting underway, but there’s already enough information on the couples to make a few solid predictions. After meeting the couples during the matchmaking special, I was convinced that David and Michelle would be the most consistent couple of the season. Now, I’m walking it back a bit, but I feel as though that Madison and Allen could be a pair that makes it all the way to the end.

What is Christopher Nolan’s best movie?

Christopher Nolan is one of the most celebrated filmmakers of his time, making it hard to choose one movie above all else. Somewhat shockingly, Nolan didn’t win an Oscar for directing until Oppenheimer, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s his best film. I think the best Christopher Nolan movie is between Memento and The Dark Knight. The structure of Memento is brilliant and The Dark Knight is one of the best superhero movies, if not the best, ever made.

The fate of the SEC hangs in the balance today when No. 5 Georgia takes on No. 1 Texas in Austin.

The Longhorns have a perfect 6-0 record thanks to a stifling defense that holds their opponents to just 6.3 points per game. It doesn’t hurt that they also score at will and have already surpassed the 50-point mark in three of their first six games.

They face a formidable opponent in the 5-1 Bulldogs, who were previously ranked No. 1 in the country before suffering a narrow loss to Alabama in Week 5. Since then, they’ve picked up wins over Auburn and Mississippi State and are also eager to make a statement in the Lone Star State.

Need a better way to carry your phone? I found a great accessory

Need a better way to carry your phone? I found a great accessory

With the year coming to an end and all the major flagship smartphone releases behind us, let’s take some time and look at the accessories for these phones. Although the market offers more iPhone accessories than other brands, there are some of these productslike the Waterfield Designs Essential iPhone case, can be used universally.

I have been a fan of Waterfield Designs products for a decade. I have several messenger bags, backpacks and totes from the brand. All products are made by hand and will last for years. I’m pretty sure my oldest bag (a Muzetto leather bag) is well over a decade old.

With the new iPhone 16 releases, I was curious to try out more iPhone accessories. I reviewed the Shinjuku Sling from Waterfield Designs a few weeks ago and today I want to talk about the Essential iPhone Pouch.

A simple, reliable phone case

The Essential iPhone case is exactly that – a pocket for your iPhone and other essentials. Its super compact size is great for the minimalist user who only needs their phone, keys and wallet. It also offers enough space for some other small necessities.

This is also a great unisex option as shoulder bags are used by all genders these days. I have to deal with women’s clothing that doesn’t always have the biggest pockets. The Essential iPhone case is a great option for me to carry everything I need in an unobtrusive form.

Like all of Waterfield’s products, the Essential iPhone case is handmade in the company’s factory in San Francisco. The Essential iPhone case is made from black 1680 denier ballistic nylon and Forza nylon and is available in five accent colors: blue, green, red, titanium and black. It is also available in a canvas with chocolate leather option, although this option costs $10 more. I chose the color red for my bag. The colors are just an accent on the front of the bag, the rest is black.

The front of the Essential iPhone Case features an open pocket for storing quick-access items, and just above the pocket is a front loop for attaching things like keys. A waterproof YKK zipper protects contents from harsh weather such as rain or snow. In the main compartment there is a small black mesh pocket on one side and a cell phone pocket on the other side. Waterfield uses its signature gold diamond liner inside, helping you see your contents at a glance instead of losing them in a black void.

The cell phone case Fits an iPhone 16 Pro Max or other similarly sized smartphones. The is a great little accessory for carrying a second phone since I usually keep my primary iPhone 16 Pro in my pocket.

Again, the Essential iPhone case is designed only for the essentials, hence the name. Typically this is your phone, keys and wallet. For travelers, a standard passport also fits in the main compartment. But I never leave the house without other things like lip balm, hand sanitizer, and my AirPods. Despite its compact size, the Essential Pouch offers enough space for these small items.

The nylon strap is also adjustable so you can have it as long or as short as you need it. A camlock buckle makes it easy to adjust the length of the strap while carrying the bag, which is a nice touch. The YKK zipper has two custom metal zipper pulls so you can open it from either side, and there are enough openings on these sliders to attach something like an AirTag.

Ideal for iPhones and Android phones alike

As much as I like to use my fancier handbags for special occasions or even Disneyland trips, sometimes I just need the essentials for quick errands. After all, I don’t want to carry a lot when I’m dropping my daughter off and picking her up from school, for example. The Essential iPhone Pouch ticks all the boxes.

The nylon material and the vertical orientation of the bag make it appear unobtrusive and gender-neutral despite the accent color. Even though it hasn’t rained here in Southern California in months, I also appreciate that this little carrying case keeps my iPhone (and other phones) and all of my other contents safe and dry.

When I reviewed the Shinjuku Sling, I said that the price was a bit high at $129. However, The Essential iPhone Pouch is cheaper at $79 for the nylon versions, while the canvas and leather version costs $89. Again, since it’s handmade in Waterfield and the products last for years, I think it’s a wise investment.

If you’re looking for a crossbody bag for your iPhone (or similarly sized Android phone) and other small essentials, I highly recommend you take a look at the Essential iPhone Bag.

Viral video showing a Pakistani man opening a lion’s jaw sparks outrage online

The video sparked major backlash online.

Social media is full of eye-catching videos of people interacting with wild animals, often leaving viewers both amazed and concerned. From brave snake fighters to adventure-seekers getting close to crocodiles, these clips never fail to amaze us. Now a video has surfaced online showing Pakistani digital creator Mian Saqib opening the mouth of a giant lion. Yes, you read that correctly! These powerful animals are revered as majestic apex predators, making this interaction both exciting and risky. However, the clip sparked a huge backlash online, with many feeling sorry for the animal.

The video begins with the man casually walking next to the lion. Seconds later, he opens the animal’s jaws without showing fear or discomfort. The post, shared just a day ago, has received nearly 76,000 views and several comments.

Take a look below:

Reacting to the video, one user wrote: “This looks cool, but it’s very dangerous.” “Why is it even necessary to commit such acts?” questioned another. “Trusting animals can sometimes be disastrous,” said a third user.

“It’s just sad to see. The poor animals no longer have any dignity. This can’t happen,” said one user. “The lion seems weak. Pseudo-pride is showing,” said another Instagram user.

“Even if you have tamed a lion, it is a disrespect to the dignity of that animal to make such a joke. And when a lion gets angry, he can do anything,” one user commented.

“Poor animal…so disgusting,” commented another.

Mian Saqib is now known for his daring handling of wild animals. This video is not the first to spark debate; Mr Saqib previously shared a clip in which a lioness appeared to be hugging him, which also sparked discussions about the safety and ethics of close encounters with wild animals. In another clip, he was seen walking next to a giant lion.
