Beirut is “like a horror movie”, a man who returned to the UK from Lebanon told Sky News after witnessing the Israeli airstrikes first hand.

She added: “We’ve been fighting this for years, and now our children are fighting it, and we fear our grandchildren will be fighting it too.”

“I want the British government to take into account the humanitarian situation in Lebanon as a country.”

Kinda Alaissami also said her father, a Syrian in his 70s, took a taxi to Beirut airport and saw “bombs exploding all around, so it was very scary, a terrible night.”

It comes as Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah was killed after Israeli airstrikes in Beirut on Friday along with other group commanders.

The Israel Defense Forces said in a statement: “Hassan Nasrallah will no longer be able to terrorize the world.”

Hezbollah said it would continue fighting after Nasrallah’s death, adding that it had fired rockets at sites in northern Israel.

While Israel stressed it was a “precise” attack, preliminary figures from Lebanon’s health ministry said at least six more people were killed and 91 injured.

According to Iranian state media, Abbas Nilforoushan, deputy commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, was also killed in the Israeli attacks on Beirut.

Pittsburgh Steelers DST – Fantasy Football Outlook

The Pittsburgh Steelers have been strong defensively this season, giving up the fewest yards and points per contest in the NFL. They are primed for more success at home against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 4.

Although the Indianapolis offense has put up a respectable number of points over the last three weeks, Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson currently leads the league in interceptions thrown. If running back Jonathan Taylor struggles against a Steelers defense that allows the second-fewest rushing yards per game,

Richardson could be forced to throw the ball as he deals with intense pressure from DPOY favorite TJ Watt. Fantasy managers should include Pittsburgh’s DST in lineups of all shapes and sizes on Sunday.

New York Jets DST – Fantasy Football Outlook

The New York Jets defense pulled off a great draw at home against the Denver Broncos in Week 4. The Broncos have struggled offensively this season, ranking 23rd in points per game and 26th in yards per game through three weeks.

The Jets have one of the most talented defenses in the league and are in a great situation at home against rookie quarterback Bo Nix. With New York considered a 7.5-point home favorite in a game with a low over/under ratio of 39.5, fantasy gamers should be confident heading into Week 4 with the Jets defense.

Cleveland Browns DST – Fantasy Football Outlook

The Cleveland Browns defense will hit the road to face the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 4. Cleveland’s defense was solid through three games, recording nine sacks, good for tenth in the league.

The Raiders will call on Gardner Minshew II at center after benching him for Aiden O’Connell last week, but Minshew is on a leash after throwing just three touchdowns and three interceptions in the first three games of the season Thrown and didn’t score a vote of confidence from head coach Antonio Pierce during the week.

Hurricane Helene has left its mark on North Carolina and many residents are trying to make sense of the devastation it left in its wake.

Helene brought heavy rains, strong winds, damaging debris and flooding to the state. Power outages and life-threatening flash floods were reported in the western part of the state.

In many areas of North Carolina, such as Chimney Rock and Asheville, residents experienced heavy rain. The highest rainfall reported was 29.5 inches in Busick Raws, Yancey County, North Carolina, Gov. Roy Cooper’s office said.

The heavy rains prompted Rutherford County Emergency Management to issue an immediate evacuation notice to residents near Lake Lure Dam on Friday morning.

On Friday evening, the county government office provided an update on the dam’s water level.

“The water level in Lake Lure has stopped rising and is beginning to decline,” the county government office wrote in a Facebook post. “Emergency personnel rescued over 25 people through rapid water rescue, EMS, fire and law enforcement.”

Emergency personnel provided an update around 9:00 p.m. local time that the storm had knocked out many phone lines across the county, particularly in Lake Lure.

Remnants of Hurricane Helene are leaving East Tennessee and Dollywood is returning to its normal schedule, according to park spokesman Wes Ramey.

Dollywood opens at 10 a.m. and closes at 9 p.m. on September 28, allowing guests to enjoy the full Harvest Festival experience after the impact of Helene disrupted park operations in recent days.

Dollywood’s DreamMore Resort and Spa and Dollywood’s HeartSong Lodge & Resort will also remain open during regular hours.

Fulham ended Nottingham Forest’s unbeaten start to the Premier League season with a hard-fought 1-0 win at the City Ground.

There was little choice between two teams separated by just a point at kick-off, but Raul Jimenez’s second-half penalty, awarded for Murillo’s foul on Andreas Pereira, proved crucial.

Forest got off to a bright start when Taiwo Awoniyi missed an early chance, while Chris Wood saw a potential opener disallowed for offside in the 25th minute, with a VAR review confirming on-field referee Joshua Smith’s decision .

However, without the suspended Morgan Gibbs-White, Nuno Espirito Santo’s team failed to find the spark as Fulham’s impressive start to the 2024/25 season continued.

The result leaves Forest ninth in the table with nine points, while Fulham overtake their hosts to move up to sixth with 11 points.

How the game developed

It was Forest who had the first chance after a quiet opening when Awoniyi – in his first start of the season – shot wide after a long throw caused chaos in the Fulham penalty area.

Wood then thought he had given the hosts the lead but his shot, which crept just over the line, was disallowed for offside and a VAR check confirmed the decision.

Almost immediately after the restart, another VAR review resulted in Murillo being penalized for stepping on Pereira’s foot. Jimenez made no mistake from the penalty spot, scoring the top right corner for his 50th Premier League goal.

As Forest watched the game, Nuno introduced Anthony Elanga and Callum Hudson-Odoi, and the latter almost found the top right corner after a slalom run into the box.

It was a nervy finish for Fulham, but they held on for eight minutes of stoppage time and survived a late siege of their penalty area to take three vital points.

Nuno’s changes fail

With Gibbs-White suspended following his red card at Brighton last week, Forest boss Nuno was forced to make attacking changes.

He opted for the added physical presence of Awoniyi, who worked with top scorer Wood in a two-pronged attack to unsettle the Fulham defense. Things worked to some extent in the early stages, with a number of set pieces causing problems for the visitors.

Unfortunately for Forest, however, it appeared that Awoniyi’s inclusion prevented Wood from playing his natural game, reflected in the fact that he only touched the ball five times in the entire first half.

Awoniyi was replaced by Elanga immediately after the break as the hosts looked to add more dynamism to the game, but it was Fulham who made the breakthrough before producing a resolute defensive performance.

Despite a positive start to the new season, Forest have now gone six games without a win on home soil and things won’t be much easier for them next time out when they take on in-form Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Fulham are flying high

Marco Silva will have been pleased to see Fulham continue their strong form against a side who went into the game as one of just four unbeaten sides in the Premier League.

The away team had to work hard for the win and were not at their best, but Jimenez – who also scored the opening goal against Newcastle United last week – was there again to secure the points.

Adama Traore, Emile Smith Rowe and Alex Iwobi have all impressed behind Jimenez this season.

But it was their defense that earned the plaudits against Forest, turning away everything that was thrown at them.

Fulham have only conceded five goals this season but they face a big test in their next game when they take on champions Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.
