Pittsburgh Steelers DST – Fantasy Football Outlook

The Pittsburgh Steelers have been strong defensively this season, giving up the fewest yards and points per contest in the NFL. They are primed for more success at home against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 4.

Although the Indianapolis offense has put up a respectable number of points over the last three weeks, Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson currently leads the league in interceptions thrown. If running back Jonathan Taylor struggles against a Steelers defense that allows the second-fewest rushing yards per game,

Richardson could be forced to throw the ball as he deals with intense pressure from DPOY favorite TJ Watt. Fantasy managers should include Pittsburgh’s DST in lineups of all shapes and sizes on Sunday.

New York Jets DST – Fantasy Football Outlook

The New York Jets defense pulled off a great draw at home against the Denver Broncos in Week 4. The Broncos have struggled offensively this season, ranking 23rd in points per game and 26th in yards per game through three weeks.

The Jets have one of the most talented defenses in the league and are in a great situation at home against rookie quarterback Bo Nix. With New York considered a 7.5-point home favorite in a game with a low over/under ratio of 39.5, fantasy gamers should be confident heading into Week 4 with the Jets defense.

Cleveland Browns DST – Fantasy Football Outlook

The Cleveland Browns defense will hit the road to face the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 4. Cleveland’s defense was solid through three games, recording nine sacks, good for tenth in the league.

The Raiders will call on Gardner Minshew II at center after benching him for Aiden O’Connell last week, but Minshew is on a leash after throwing just three touchdowns and three interceptions in the first three games of the season Thrown and didn’t score a vote of confidence from head coach Antonio Pierce during the week.

However, the Browns’ defense enters Week 4 pretty banged up, as Myles Garrett (foot, hamstring, hamstring), Jordan Hicks (ribs, elbow) and Mike Ford (knee) all missed a few practices this week due to their respective injuries. The Browns are 1.5-point away favorites in a game with a low over/under of 36.5 points, so fantasy managers can feel confident starting the unit as a top-10 option this weekend.

MADISON, Wis. –

The University of Wisconsin Board of Regents voted unanimously Friday to fire a communications professor who wanted to keep his job after he was fired as chancellor of one of the system’s campuses for producing pornographic films.

Joe Gow, who served as UW-La Crosse’s chancellor for nearly 17 years, argued last week that he should retain a teaching position on campus. But the university’s lawyers argued that he behaved unethically, violated the terms of his employment contract, damaged the university’s reputation and compromised its mission.

The regents met in closed session Friday morning before publicly voting to fire Gow. There was no public discussion before the board vote.

Gow said he is considering filing a lawsuit to keep his teaching job. He did not immediately respond to a message Friday morning.

Gow has been on paid leave from his faculty position since the regents fired him as chancellor in 2023, shortly after university leadership became aware of the videos posted on pornographic websites.

The case has drawn national attention both for the salaciousness of a high-ranking university official making and speaking publicly about pornographic films and for the questions it raises about free speech rights.

Gow argued that his videos and two e-books that he and his wife Carmen published about their experiences in adult films were protected by the First Amendment. The university’s attorney argued that Gow’s videos themselves were legal, but that they were not protected by his employment contract.

Zach Greenberg, an attorney with the free speech advocacy group Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression, called the regents’ decision “a major blow to academic freedom and the right to free expression.”

“FIRE has said time and time again: Public universities cannot sacrifice the First Amendment to protect their reputations,” Greenberg said. “We are disappointed that the UW has caved to donors and politicians by alienating a tenured professor.”

Republican lawmakers already view Wisconsin’s university system as a liberal incubator. Last year they forced the company to scale back its diversity initiatives. System President Jay Rothman has tried to avoid further angering conservatives as he seeks approval for an $855 million increase in the next state budget.

Gow’s hope of teaching in the classroom again was rejected by his department head, Linda Dickmeyer. She said that because Gow had not taught in 20 years, he would be assigned general education courses, but she declined to allow him to return to teaching in any capacity.

Gow was criticized in 2018 for inviting porn actress Nina Hartley to speak on campus. She received $5,000 from tuition fees for her performance. The university said he came up with the idea of ​​bringing her to campus after filming a pornographic video with her.

Gow and his wife’s e-books were written under the pseudonyms “Monogamy with Benefits: How Porn Enhances Our Relationships” and “Married with Benefits – Our Real Adventures in the Adult Industry.” But they also star in a YouTube channel called “Sexy Healthy Cooking,” in which the couple cooks meals with porn actors.

A picture says more than a thousand words. But with generative AI, you have to start with words to get that picture.

Generative artificial intelligence technology has exploded in recent years, giving rise to many creative services that can generate entire images and video clips. This is the “generative” aspect of genetic AI – it can seemingly generate content from just a simple text prompt. Of course, the actual process is more complicated.

AI image generators rely on a database of existing content (text, images, videos, etc.) and/or search the open Internet for information to create new images to fulfill your request. They allow anyone with an account and a request to create almost any type of image (usually within reason).

There are many AI imaging services available, but not all of them provide high-quality results or adequately protect your data. They also differ in price and the features they offer. While AI generators can be exciting to explore, getting started can quickly become overwhelming.

This is where this guide comes in handy. I tested and reviewed several AI image generators for CNET and explained how the new technology impacts digital creators. These services are certainly interesting and serve their purpose, but they require a learning curve. Although they are not good enough to replace human creators, they offer a range of creative possibilities.

Here’s how you can create custom AI images.

Step 1: Choose the best AI service for your project

I have hands-on experience with many AI image generators and creative programs. Which program is best for you depends on your project, your budget and your level of experience. You can check out our full reviews and rankings, but these are my three program recommendations.

What is the best AI image generator for you?

The CNET Editor’s Choice is Dall-E 3 from OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT. Dall-E features impressive prompt adherence and handles even more complex prompts with ease. The conversation flow – meaning you can follow simply by typing in the chat window – allows for easy editing after generation. Dall-E is also one of the more creative programs we tested. You’ll need a ChatGPT Plus account to access the program – $20 per month – and note that OpenAI may use your content for model training. However, you can submit a request to stop training your data.

If you are looking for a free program, I recommend Leonardo AI. Canva recently acquired it, but you can still use it on their website. Leonardo offers a robust free plan with more editing tools behind the paywall and multiple artistic styles to choose from. It also offers a unique quick improvement tool that allows you to rewrite a simple idea and add details that lead to beautiful end results.

If your budget is really tight and you have no creative experience, check out Canva’s Magic Media generator. It is extremely intuitive and easy to navigate, which is ideal for beginners and non-creatives. Canva offers you 50 free image generation credits (that’s lifetime credits – you’ll need to upgrade to the paid Pro plan for more credits after you use up your free tier) and automatically excludes you from training its AI on your content.

Once you’ve selected your program, create an account and go to the Command Prompt window.

Step 2: Write your image prompt

Your best chance of success starts with a well-written prompt. Each prompt should include character basics, setting, other elements, and dimensions of the image. But to really hone in on the image you want, add descriptions of the artistic style you want to emulate, the aesthetic, the appeal, and the specific colors.

AI image generators are rightly subject to limitations in terms of generation options. This is to prevent people from misusing these services to create illegal content and potentially dangerous or offensive content. For example, Dall-E 3 refuses to create images that mention public figures such as President Biden or Taylor Swift by name. Before generating, be sure to check your service’s security policies.

Prompt engineering – the process of writing the right prompt to get the desired results – is something you get better at with practice. It also varies between individual image generators. For example, Canva tends to perform better with simple prompts, while Dall-E recommends longer, more detailed prompts. The best way to get to know it is to play around with your program. Step 3: Edit your images as needed

Even with the best generator, you’ll likely need to edit your images after they’re created. Depending on the service you use, you may have access to editing tools or the ability to request changes. Be careful when editing your images too much. I’ve found that services can only handle so many changes before the image becomes too wonky and ultimately unusable.

Post-generation editing tools are an area where AI services tend to shine or fail. If your service doesn’t offer them (or they don’t work particularly well), try editing your prompt instead of the image. In my experience, this gives you a better chance of success than trying to edit existing images incrementally.

Step 4: Give your images proper attribution

It is extremely important to label your images as AI-generated content. As AI image services improve, it is important that all creators clearly identify the origin of an image, particularly to distinguish it from human-made art and photography.

Some services automatically add a watermark or other marking indicating that it is AI generated, but too many do not, such as Dall-E, Adobe Firefly, Midjourney, Canva and Leonardo. If you share your image online, be sure to credit the AI ​​service you use in the caption, credit, and/or alt text. You can also add a disclaimer to your posts when sharing them on social media – Meta might flag them as AI content on Instagram and Facebook, but adding a line to your headline will help avoid confusion.

FAQ and other considerations

At the time of publication, using AI image generators is legal. However, when creating AI images, you should consider important legal and ethical considerations. Here are a few quick, frequently asked questions.

AI image services like Midjourney and Dall-E rely on existing content to create images. This content, either in a database or on the open web, is typically created by humans. Therefore, some creators and artists have serious concerns about the design and training of these programs. This has led to industry turmoil and some notable lawsuits, including an ongoing case against Stable Diffusion, an AI model used by popular generators.

If you’re concerned about using a service that could potentially mistreat creators, choose a service that clearly discloses how it trains its model. Some AI services rely on public databases such as Adobe Stock and Getty Images, where creators sign agreements with the companies to have their works included in these collections for specific uses. Adobe Firefly, for example, says it only uses content from its public Adobe Stock databases and images whose copyrights have expired. It also doesn’t train on your content.

Crypto crime continues to explode, often targeting Americans through a worldwide network of criminals who don’t care whose lives they destroy. One victim, a working woman, was willing to talk about the financial devastation.

US savings and retirement accounts are prime targets because America is where the money is.

“It’s a personal drive for me that I don’t want this to happen to others,” said Mary, in her 60s and a professional who ensures her employer complies with all applicable laws, regulations and policies.

Over her life, she amassed a $1.2 million retirement fund, some of it to finance her son’s college education.

The money is gone now.

“It’s absolutely humiliating, devastating, I cried for weeks,” she said.

Mary was initially contacted through LinkedIn, Microsoft’s business and employment-focused social media platform with over one billion members worldwide.

Last March, Kenneth Ouyang, who claims in his professional LinkedIn post that he is a Google artificial intelligence and machine learning engineer, contacted Mary and told her he wanted to talk about AI in the context of her industry.

Ouyang said he wanted to discuss AI in the context of their industry.

“He’s very tech savvy,” she said.

Over several months, they built trust by discussing shared interests such as cooking and outdoor activities. They spoke on FaceTime and WhatsApp. Ouyang even sent a copy of his Seattle driver’s license.

Finally, he brought up his side business, cryptocurrency.

“I had concerns, but I thought, ‘Well, there is crypto in the industry. There are many apps. People do this. They channel money,’” Mary said.

He convinced Mary to give it a try by investing $1,000 in a platform called Xexbit.com. Almost immediately, she received $1,340 in cash back in her bank account.

Further transfers eventually depleted the pension fund, with Ouyang claiming he had co-invested with her. She says he even tried to convince her to take part in what appeared to be a multi-stage crypto Ponzi scheme to attract more investors, but refused.

Still, Mary said she was told she had amassed a $9 million profit. But to get it back, she would have to deposit another 10% into her account; Money she didn’t have.

“That didn’t happen. And they also gave a deadline that it would be due by September 7th,” she said.

Ouyang removed his LinkedIn post and disappeared with all her money. She is in contact with local police, the FBI and the IRS.

With her nest egg gone, she is now thinking about the rest of her life.

“I hesitated and went for it anyway,” Mary said.

Users who fall for carefully crafted crypto scams often harbor ill will toward LinkedIn because they believe they are dealing with reputable organizations and professionals.

Aware of this, LinkedIn told CNBC that increasing fraud resulted in the removal of 32 million fake, fake and fraudulent accounts last year.

Nonetheless, the Santa Clara District Attorney’s Cyber ​​Crimes Unit says social media needs to do a much better job of ridding its sites of scammers.

“Last year, $50 billion was stolen from ordinary Americans by transnational organized crime… the problem is sophisticated fraudsters who know who to target, how to target it, and how to target it in order to stealing everything,” said Santa Clara County Assistant District Attorney James Gibbons-Shapiro.
