Remnants of Hurricane Helene are leaving East Tennessee and Dollywood is returning to its normal schedule, according to park spokesman Wes Ramey.

Dollywood opens at 10 a.m. and closes at 9 p.m. on September 28, allowing guests to enjoy the full Harvest Festival experience after the impact of Helene disrupted park operations in recent days.

Dollywood’s DreamMore Resort and Spa and Dollywood’s HeartSong Lodge & Resort will also remain open during regular hours.

According to the National Weather Service, the Pigeon Forge area is under a flood warning until midnight on September 28th. According to the National Park Service on September 27, parts of the Great Smoky National Park in East Tennessee received more than 9 inches of rain in the last few days.

Fulham ended Nottingham Forest’s unbeaten start to the Premier League season with a hard-fought 1-0 win at the City Ground.

There was little choice between two teams separated by just a point at kick-off, but Raul Jimenez’s second-half penalty, awarded for Murillo’s foul on Andreas Pereira, proved crucial.

Forest got off to a bright start when Taiwo Awoniyi missed an early chance, while Chris Wood saw a potential opener disallowed for offside in the 25th minute, with a VAR review confirming on-field referee Joshua Smith’s decision .

However, without the suspended Morgan Gibbs-White, Nuno Espirito Santo’s team failed to find the spark as Fulham’s impressive start to the 2024/25 season continued.

The result leaves Forest ninth in the table with nine points, while Fulham overtake their hosts to move up to sixth with 11 points.

How the game developed

It was Forest who had the first chance after a quiet opening when Awoniyi – in his first start of the season – shot wide after a long throw caused chaos in the Fulham penalty area.

Wood then thought he had given the hosts the lead but his shot, which crept just over the line, was disallowed for offside and a VAR check confirmed the decision.

Almost immediately after the restart, another VAR review resulted in Murillo being penalized for stepping on Pereira’s foot. Jimenez made no mistake from the penalty spot, scoring the top right corner for his 50th Premier League goal.

As Forest watched the game, Nuno introduced Anthony Elanga and Callum Hudson-Odoi, and the latter almost found the top right corner after a slalom run into the box.

It was a nervy finish for Fulham, but they held on for eight minutes of stoppage time and survived a late siege of their penalty area to take three vital points.

Nuno’s changes fail

With Gibbs-White suspended following his red card at Brighton last week, Forest boss Nuno was forced to make attacking changes.

He opted for the added physical presence of Awoniyi, who worked with top scorer Wood in a two-pronged attack to unsettle the Fulham defense. Things worked to some extent in the early stages, with a number of set pieces causing problems for the visitors.

Unfortunately for Forest, however, it appeared that Awoniyi’s inclusion prevented Wood from playing his natural game, reflected in the fact that he only touched the ball five times in the entire first half.

Awoniyi was replaced by Elanga immediately after the break as the hosts looked to add more dynamism to the game, but it was Fulham who made the breakthrough before producing a resolute defensive performance.

Despite a positive start to the new season, Forest have now gone six games without a win on home soil and things won’t be much easier for them next time out when they take on in-form Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Fulham are flying high

Marco Silva will have been pleased to see Fulham continue their strong form against a side who went into the game as one of just four unbeaten sides in the Premier League.

The away team had to work hard for the win and were not at their best, but Jimenez – who also scored the opening goal against Newcastle United last week – was there again to secure the points.

Adama Traore, Emile Smith Rowe and Alex Iwobi have all impressed behind Jimenez this season.

But it was their defense that earned the plaudits against Forest, turning away everything that was thrown at them.

Fulham have only conceded five goals this season but they face a big test in their next game when they take on champions Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.

Gov. Bill Lee signed an executive order Friday providing assistance to those who suffered property damage or were evacuated from their homes due to severe weather and flooding from Hurricane Helene.

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. – SpaceX launched a rescue mission for the two stuck astronauts on the International Space Station on Saturday, sending a scaled-down crew to bring them home, but not until next year.

The capsule shot into orbit to pick up the test pilots, whose Boeing spacecraft returned to Earth empty earlier this month for safety reasons. The change in rides left Nick Hague of NASA and Alexander Gorbunov of Russia to bring back Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams.

Because NASA rotates space station crews about every six months, this newly launched flight will not return until late February with two free seats for Wilmore and Williams. Officials said there was no way to bring them back to SpaceX sooner without disrupting other planned missions.

When they return, the couple will have spent more than eight months in space. When they signed up for Boeing’s first astronaut flight, which launched in June, they expected to be gone for just a week.

NASA ultimately concluded that Boeing’s Starliner was too risky after a cascade of problems with the engines and helium leaks marred the flight to the orbiting complex. The space agency excluded two astronauts from this SpaceX launch to make room for Wilmore and Williams on the return flight.

Williams has now been promoted to commander of the space station, which will soon return to its normal population of seven. Once Hague and Gorbunov arrive this weekend, four astronauts who have lived there since March will be able to depart in their own SpaceX capsule. Their return home was delayed by a month due to the unrest on the Starliner.

Before the flight, Hague noted that change is the only constant in human spaceflight.

“There is always something that changes. Maybe this time it will be a little more visible to the public,” he said.

Hague was appointed rescue mission commander six years ago because of his experience and handling of a launch emergency. The Russian rocket failed shortly after launch and the capsule carrying him and a cosmonaut catapulted from the top to safety.

New NASA astronaut Zena Cardman and veteran space flyer Stephanie Wilson were pulled from that flight after NASA chose SpaceX to bring the stranded astronauts home. The space agency said both are eligible to take part in future missions. Gorbunov remained under an exchange agreement between NASA and the Russian space agency.

“I don’t know exactly when my launch into space will be, but I know I will get there,” Cardman said from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center, where she attended the launch livestream.

Hague acknowledged the challenges of launching with half a crew and returning with two astronauts trained on another spacecraft.

“We have a dynamic challenge before us,” Hague said after arriving from Houston last weekend. “We know each other, are professionals and do what is asked of us.”

SpaceX has long been a leader in NASA’s commercial crew program, which was founded when the space shuttles were retired more than a decade ago. SpaceX surpassed Boeing in carrying astronauts to the space station in 2020 and is now up to 10 crew flights for NASA.

Boeing has struggled with a variety of problems over the years, repeating a Starliner test flight with no one on board after the first one went off course. The Starliner that left Wilmore and Williams in space landed without problems in the New Mexico desert on September 6 and has since returned to Kennedy Space Center. A week ago, Boeing’s defense and space chief was replaced.

The latest SpaceX launch was delayed by Hurricane Helene, which hit Florida, and was the first for astronauts from Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. SpaceX took over the old Titan rocket platform nearly two decades ago and used it for satellite launches while crews from Kennedy’s former Apollo and shuttle pad flew next door. The company wanted more flexibility as more Falcon rockets came onto the market.

Hurricane Helene has left its mark on North Carolina and many residents are trying to make sense of the devastation it left in its wake.

Helene brought heavy rains, strong winds, damaging debris and flooding to the state. Power outages and life-threatening flash floods were reported in the western part of the state.

In many areas of North Carolina, such as Chimney Rock and Asheville, residents experienced heavy rain. The highest rainfall reported was 29.5 inches in Busick Raws, Yancey County, North Carolina, Gov. Roy Cooper’s office said.

The heavy rains prompted Rutherford County Emergency Management to issue an immediate evacuation notice to residents near Lake Lure Dam on Friday morning.

On Friday evening, the county government office provided an update on the dam’s water level.

“The water level in Lake Lure has stopped rising and is beginning to decline,” the county government office wrote in a Facebook post. “Emergency personnel rescued over 25 people through rapid water rescue, EMS, fire and law enforcement.”

Emergency personnel provided an update around 9:00 p.m. local time that the storm had knocked out many phone lines across the county, particularly in Lake Lure.

As part of the announcements at RazerCon 2024, it was revealed that a brand new version of Razer Synapse is available to download, and if you actively use Razer peripherals, it looks like a must-have app update thanks to a 30% performance increase over the previous version.

Razer’s Snap Tap feature is also getting better support despite the Snap Tap CS2 ban, after announcing it will be rolling out to more keyboards and even the Blade laptops.

Another big improvement concerns the user interface, which is now much more intuitive and presents all the devices you manage in a clearer way. This also means you can adjust the settings of individual peripherals much more quickly since you don’t have to search for the device you want to adjust.

Speaking of speed, Razer also claims that Synapse 4 runs 30% faster than Synapse 3 based on its own testing. Despite this increase in efficiency, there doesn’t appear to be any additional load on your system that could potentially disrupt gameplay.
