How do businesses fail inspections?

Businesses fall out of compliance when they have too many violations, issues that can cause a foodborne illness, when a problem can’t be fixed right away, such as bug and rodent infestations, and more. But most violations are minor and are corrected while an inspection is taking place.

Typically, establishments are reinspected within 10 days to ensure they are following the rules.

It’s rare for a business to shut down over a failed inspection. But it can happen. Usually, closures are temporary, voluntary and due to major problems, such as sewage backups, pest infestations, and water or power outages.

The lists in this story include only businesses from Sedgwick County. But you can search food and lodging inspection results anywhere in Kansas at https://foodsafety.kda.ks.gov/FoodSafety/Web/Inspection/PublicInspectionSearch.aspx.

The longtime Hawaii MLB veteran is hoping for another shot at a world title

The longtime Hawaii MLB veteran is hoping for another shot at a world title

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Mike Fetters grew up in Ewa Beach as a man of many talents.

A three-sport athlete who excelled in basketball, football and baseball, which was actually the sport he enjoyed the least.

But when he was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers out of Iolani in the 22nd round, he reconsidered.

“I didn’t think I was that good,” Fetters said. “I knew I could play at another level, whether it was basketball, baseball or football, it didn’t matter, but when I got drafted I told myself there are no NBA or NFL scouts talking to me , so let me give this to you. MLB thing is a try.”

Instead of immediately going to the majors, he decided to attend Pepperdine University to increase his stock, and in 1986 he was drafted in the first round by the California Angels

Three years later he received a call to the major leagues.

“Most of these younger guys are single and hitting the road, they’re alone and homesick, especially those from Hawaii who aren’t going to college,” Fetters said. “They stay home and deregister from high school. They have this homesickness, like men. I’m not used to being on the mainland but I had my wife with me so it made it a lot easier.”

Staying down-to-earth and being a family man helped Fetters complete 16 major league seasons…

His best playing years came in Milwaukee, where he cemented his role as the Brewers’ closer.

His 79 saves with the club still rank sixth-most in franchise history and he is enshrined on the team’s Wall of Honor.

Now the coach of the Arizona Diamondbacks, Fetters remains one of Hawaii’s best and longest-tenured major league players.

He often returns home to the islands and has some advice for young talent trying to make it.

“First and foremost, stay humble,” Fetters said. “Number two is you have to keep working. There are no shortcuts up here. It’s hard to get into the big leagues. It’s even harder to stay. It’s a cliché, but that’s the truth.”

For now, the Diamondbacks are making his time in the league worthwhile.

The defending National League champions are on their way to another playoff spot, and Fetters, despite all he’s accomplished, still has a box to check.

“I want a World Series,” Fetters said. “That’s all I ever played for. The only reason I train is for the opportunity to try and win a championship. I don’t have one yet, I was pretty close last year. I wish I was a player who would win a World Series, but the next best thing is coaching. I hope our guys can do this thing this year.”

DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE’s hilarious gag reel includes excerpts from scenes that didn’t make it into the film

DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE’s hilarious gag reel includes excerpts from scenes that didn’t make it into the film

“Blade won’t admit it, but he wants a s’more.”

Deadpool and Wolverine is set to be released digitally on October 1st before hitting 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD a few weeks later on October 22nd, and the additional features gag reel has now been officially released online (via Crushable).

The one-minute video contains some very funny outtakes, with Ryan Reynolds apparently improvising some of his dialogue (he comes up with some incredibly inventive alternative middle names for Tony Stark). We also get to see a few shots of scenes that didn’t make it into the final cut, including Wade Wilson trying to piggyback (which we saw in the on-set photos), and the Merc with the Mouth, who interrupts Logan’s (Hugh Jackman) conversation with X. 23 (Dafne Keen) to give Blade (Wesley Snipes) a s’more.

Marvel Studios’ first R-rated film was a huge success (after nine weeks in theaters, it’s still climbing to the top of the all-time box office), so we wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if a direct sequel was announced. Even if Wade and Logan won’t return for another film together, they almost certainly will Avengers: Secret Wars.

Check out the gag reel below for our review of Deadpool and Wolverine Here.

The MPAA gave the film an official R rating for: “Strong bloody violence and language, blood and sexual innuendo throughout.”

“Marvel Studios Presents Their Biggest Mistake Yet – Deadpool & Wolverine,” reads the new summary. “A listless Wade Wilson toils in civilian life. His days as the morally flexible mercenary, Deadpool, are behind him. When his homeworld faces an existential threat, Wade must reluctantly reunite with an even more reluctant…reluctant? “He has to convince a reluctant Wolverine – f*ck synopses are so damn stupid.”

Alongside Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman in the title roles, Deadpool and Wolverine Morena Baccarin (Vanessa), Leslie Uggams (Blind Al), Rob Delaney (Peter), Brianna Hildebrand (Negasonic Teenage Warhead), and Shioli Kutsuna (Yukio) will return as their respective characters, and they will be joined by franchise newcomer Emma Corrin (The crown) and Matthew Macfadyen (Consequence), who will play a TV agent and Charles Xavier’s evil counterpart, Cassandra Nova.

Directed by Shawn Levy Deadpool and Wolverine based on a screenplay by Ryan Reynolds, Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick and Zeb Wells.

Video shows a burning Russian convoy as Kiev thwarts a “battalion-sized” attack

Video shows a burning Russian convoy as Kiev thwarts a “battalion-sized” attack

Russian military vehicles burst into flames after an attack by Kiev soldiers, according to the Ukrainian military, which released video footage of the alleged battle.

The Ukrainian Air Force posted on Facebook that its soldiers managed to repel a 50-man column of Russian equipment. Newsweek has not yet verified the details of the footage and has emailed the Russian Defense Ministry for comment.

The independent U.S.-based think tank Institute for the Study of War (ISW) said Friday that Ukrainian forces repelled “an intensified battalion-sized Russian mechanized attack toward Kupiansk,” the first mechanized attack along the line since last winter .

A two-minute video showed aerial footage of military vehicles burning in an open field and smoke billowing into the sky.

In the post accompanying the clip, the Ukrainian military said that Russian forces attempted to storm the positions of Ukraine’s 77th Air Mobile Brigade and the National Guard in two separate operations.

“However, even with such strong forces, the enemy units were unsuccessful,” the post said, adding that Ukraine’s paratroopers and National Guardsmen managed to “defeat the enemy and push them back to their starting positions.”

The post added that two tanks, two armored personnel carriers and an infantry fighting vehicle were destroyed in the Russian attack, “and those that remained managed to escape in panic.”

“The enemy column that attacked the positions of the soldiers of the National Guard of Ukraine also suffered a setback,” the post said, according to a translation.

The ISW said footage of damaged Russian armored vehicles crowded together suggested Moscow forces attacked in dense columns. They blocked when the Ukrainian fire units began to strike, which “commonly occurs in failed Russian mechanized attacks.”

The Washington, DC-based think tank also provided additional details about the site. It said Ukrainian forces were operating near the village of Pishchane, southeast of Kupiansk in Kharkiv Oblast, after Russian forces attacked directly on the Oskil River, where Moscow is trying to make gains.

Ukrainian military sources said Russian forces had been pushed back to their starting positions near Pishchane, while the ISW said geolocated footage suggested Moscow forces had made no progress during the attack.

Ukrainian officials said on Saturday that Russian forces launched an attack on a hospital in the northeastern city of Sumy, killing nine people and wounding 12.

A first attack hit the hospital, while a second attack occurred as rescuers and police arrived to carry patients to safety in what Russia called a “double-tap” attack, said Ihor Klymenko, Ukraine’s interior minister.

Latest news between Israel and Hezbollah: Hezbollah chief Nasrallah killed, says Israel – as Iran’s supreme leader was taken to secure site | World News

Special correspondent Alex Crawford leaves the aftermath of Hassan Nasrallah’s alleged death behind him for a moment, reporting from the coast of Beirut on the impact of the attacks on civilians…

Beirut’s Corniche is filled with families who fled overnight and early morning Israeli bombings of the capital’s southern suburbs.

Entire families are camping on the sidewalks, on the main public beach, in cars and on benches.

A family loaded their pickup truck and set off with more than 40 family members from Dahiyeh in the southern suburbs, where most of the Israeli airstrikes have taken place.

We spoke with the grandparents who packed their truck with their seven children and 31 grandchildren and fled to get away from the line of fire.

Some of the children were still sleeping in the back of the truck when we spoke to grandmother Em Ahmad.

She told us: “When we heard the first big bomb, I just said to my husband: ‘We have to move’.”

“We are all very afraid. We have no idea what’s going to happen.”

Many families are Syrian refugees who have already fled the fighting in their home country.

A young mother and her three children spent the night on the sidewalk a few kilometers from Dahiyeh.

“We moved several times, and as the bombing continued, I thought, I can’t stay here with my children,” she told us on condition of anonymity because many were apparently afraid of being targeted.

The paranoia is now acute. The fear, raw.

Airstrikes continued this morning in Bekaa in the east of the country and overnight there were several attacks in the southern city of Tire and in the Lebanon mountains, where many displaced families had already fled.

“Please don’t show my family’s faces,” said an elderly man from Dahiyeh who had slept all night in his vehicle, about two miles north of the airstrikes.

“The Israelis are terrorizing us. It’s crazy. Nobody feels safe.”

Should you join Costco and Sam’s Club?

Should you join Costco and Sam’s Club?

Many savvy buyers are happy about great bargains. It may be worth having more money in your checking account if you shop the best deals from your favorite retailers. If you want to maximize your savings, you may consider joining more than one warehouse club.

This strategy may be an option if you have more than one warehouse club retailer in your community. But does it make sense to pay an annual membership fee to shop at Costco? And Sam’s Club? Although it may be tempting to join both clubs, it’s probably unnecessary for most buyers. Let’s explore this topic in more detail to help you decide what to do.

Reasons to join only one warehouse club

For most people, joining more than one warehouse club is probably unnecessary. Here are some reasons why it’s probably best to just have one Costco or a Sam’s Club card in your wallet.

Annual membership cost

For each warehouse club you join, you must pay an annual membership fee. If you want to save money by purchasing members-only deals, paying for two memberships probably doesn’t make sense. Looking for bargains at one of these clubs can help you get good value for your money, and shopping at two warehouse clubs can be time-consuming.

The benefits of membership are similar

There are some noticeable differences between retailers. However, if you compare the benefits offered to members at each club, you will find that they are not that different. If you can benefit from the benefits of one club, joining another club may not be necessary.

It might be a good idea to join Costco and Sam’s Club

Still, for some shoppers, taking advantage of multiple warehouse club memberships might be a good move. In certain cases, joining Costco and Sam’s Club can be a good choice. Here are some reasons why.

You are entitled to a discounted membership

If you can get a discounted membership to one or more clubs, it might be worth joining both warehouse clubs. It is ideal not to have to pay the full price for two memberships.

Sam’s Club regularly offers special offers for new members, making the first year of membership very affordable. The company also offers membership discounts to some shoppers, including seniors, educators, first responders, healthcare workers and more.

You’ll want to test out both clubs to find your ideal membership

Another reason to join Costco and Sam’s Club is to test each membership. For those who have a Costco and Sam’s Club nearby, it’s not a bad idea to pay for two memberships for a year to find out which retailer best meets your needs.

Just make sure you can afford to pay for both annual memberships and don’t forget to use both memberships so you don’t waste money. After spending time shopping at both retailers in the club and online, you can decide which brand better suits your needs.

If you are dissatisfied with your experience at any of the merchants, you can cancel your membership and receive a full refund. Both companies offer a 100 percent membership satisfaction guarantee. These guidelines may give you more confidence when trying out both warehouse club memberships.

Earn rewards when you shop

Whether you join Costco, Sam’s Club, or both retailers, take advantage of the opportunity to earn rewards as you shop. You can use a credit card that earns you cashback rewards. This way you can maximize your savings.

If you’re a Costco member, check out the best Costco credit cards that can help you earn rewards. Using a cash back credit card when checking out at Costco or Sam’s Club can be a win for your wallet. You can use your rewards to pay for future purchases.

Norwegian Breakaway Cruise Review: Crowded, big ship, but fun

Norwegian Breakaway Cruise Review: Crowded, big ship, but fun

  • My family sailed through New England and Canada on Norwegian Cruise Lines’ Norwegian Breakaway.
  • The ship, which holds approximately 4,000 guests, features an open-air design and unique amenities such as water slides.
  • Despite the crowds and limited seating, the ship offered plenty of activities to enjoy.

My family recently returned from a seven-day cruise through New England and Canada on Norwegian Cruise Lines’ massive ship Norwegian Breakaway.

The ship, which can accommodate around 4,000 guests, belongs to the “Breakaway” class with its sister ship, the Norwegian Getaway. Both feature an open-air design and amenities like water slides and a ropes course.

Since my family was relatively new to cruising life, they had never sailed on such a large ship and were eager to experience all the different activities on board.

Even though some of the fun cost extra and the pools were mostly unusable due to the cool weather, we rarely had anything to do.

However, I would like to warn about the limited seating – which we felt was the main drawback on board such a huge ship, and we wish Norwegian had a more efficient layout.
