Sarasota’s oldest restaurant was “temporarily closed” following storm damage.

Columbia, which opened in 1959 and is Sarasota’s oldest full-service restaurant, along with its sister restaurant Cha Cha Coconuts, which opened in 1989 and is located nearby, are among the many businesses on St. Armands Circle that have suffered from severe flooding suffered by Hurricane Helene next door on the street of the same name in St. Armands Circle.

“Columbia Restaurant on St. Armands Circle in Sarasota and Cha Cha Coconuts next door are closed indefinitely,” reads the original post on Cha Cha Coconuts’ Facebook page at 9 a.m. Friday, Sept. 27 was published. The post was later updated to read, “temporarily closed.”

Jeff Houck, vice president of marketing for 1905 Family of Restaurants, which includes Columbia Restaurant and Cha Cah Coconuts, said via email to the Herald-Tribune that they are “still assessing the damage, but there was significant flooding throughout the county “.

The popular chocolate brand is introducing its first new flavor in years

The popular chocolate brand is introducing its first new flavor in years

M&M’s first new permanent flavor since 2022 is coming to stores soon – Peanut Butter and Jelly.

And candy fans are happy about the allusion to an American classic – which is “designed to evoke the comforting experience of a classic PB&J sandwich.”

“Peanut Butter M&M’s have long been a favorite among our fans, and we’re excited to expand on that excitement with this new variant,” Gabrielle Wesley, chief marketing officer of candy maker Mars Wrigley, said this week.

She said the new flavor “transforms a beloved, cross-generational staple into a delicious snack that’s perfect for sharing.”

Meanwhile, M&M’s launched the latest of its limited-edition flavors last week. Unlike the new peanut butter and jelly version, the Milk Chocolate Pumpkin Pie will only be available in the fall.

M&M’s first new flavor since 2022 – Peanut Butter & Jelly – hits stores in January.

The new peanut butter and jelly flavor doesn’t hit shelves until December.

But candy fans are already rejoicing after the news was posted on Instagram account CandyHunting in August.

“I’m so happy that the PB&J trend is moving toward sweets!” wrote popular food blogger Snackolator under the post.

‘Finally! I’ve been dreaming about this taste for a very long time. Dreams come true!’ another fan commented.

M&M’s Peanut Butter & Jelly will be available in stores nationwide and online at MMS.com.

They are offered in three sizes: single bags (1.63 ounces), split bags (2.83 ounces), and split bags (8.6 ounces).

Many fans have pointed out that the flavor is very similar to the flavor that was discontinued 15 years ago.

“They have a flavored peanut butter filling, similar to the Strawberry Peanut Butter M&Ms from 2009,” CandyHuting said when first sharing news of the new flavor.

Fans of M&M’s were also surprised to learn about the family drama behind the famous chocolate brand.

The two “M”s in the name stand for Mars and Murrie – the chocolate heirs and store employees Forrest Mars Sr. and Bruce Murrie, who invented the treats.

Bruce was the son of Hershey executive William Murrie, while Forrest was the son of Mars founder Frank C. Mars.

Forrest reportedly fell out with his father and later visited Europe, where he reportedly saw people enjoying candy-coated chocolate.

Not wanting to share his idea with his estranged father, he returned to the United States to his family’s rival, Hershey’s.

The resulting chocolate creation brought together the two collaborators Mars and Murrie.

Mars recently made headlines in the UK after it was announced that it was bringing back a popular ’80s chocolate bar after 34 years – but only for a limited time.

Across the pond, Snickers bars were called “Marathon” – until 1990, when they were given the same name as in the US and around the world.

Now the Marathon name is returning to UK shelves. In a limited edition, Snickers will return to its former name – a delight for fans who have missed the iconic brand since its change in the ’90s.

Chocolate bosses at Mars Wrigley – which also owns M&M, Galaxy, Twix and Maltesers – are launching the retro rebrand to celebrate the company’s 90th anniversary operating in the UK.

Steve Waters, senior brand manager, said: “We’re delighted to be bringing back the Marathon Bar branding for a limited period. “It’s a great way to celebrate over 90 years of Mars chocolate making in the UK.

“We hope Snickers fans who remember when it was called Marathon will enjoy picking it up in store!”

Former world number 1 Halep starts her tennis comeback at the WTA 125 tournament in Hong Kong

Former world number 1 Halep starts her tennis comeback at the WTA 125 tournament in Hong Kong

Former world number 1 Simona Halep will make a surprise return to competitive tennis in Hong Kong after a nearly two-year break.

The two-time Grand Slam champion’s four-year doping ban was reduced to nine months earlier this season, allowing her to return almost immediately, but after a brief appearance at the Miami Open her comeback was derailed by a knee injury.

The 33-year-old 2018 French Open champion and 2019 Wimbledon champion, who took part in the Trophee Clarins tournament in Paris in May, had to retire midway through her first round match against McCartney Kessler.

Now the Romanian, who was the world’s best for a total of 64 weeks between 2017 and 2019, is fit again and has received a wildcard entry into the Prudential Hong Kong Tennis 125, which starts at Victoria Park on Monday.

“I’m looking forward to getting back into action in Hong Kong,” said Halep. “It’s been a while since I’ve stepped on the field but I’m feeling great and really looking forward to getting back out there.”

Amazon’s new free MMORPG reaches an impressive Steam peak in Early Access for $40

Amazon’s new free MMORPG reaches an impressive Steam peak in Early Access for

throne and FreedomA game that has been in development at NCSoft since the Stone Age (2011) is finally available in Early Access on Steam. Although the title has been brewing behind the scenes for a long time, it has captivated a huge audience even before its full release, at a time when you still have to pay to play the game. Apparently, the cost of launching the game ahead of its free-to-play release wasn’t a deterrent for many, as the game’s maximum player count is already reaching massive new highs.

Throne and Liberty is a game that has been lurking under the surface for a very, very long time, especially for those who follow the MMORPG space consistently. Games with a development cycle of over a decade don’t often launch with as much fanfare as Throne and Liberty.

The MMO launched Early Access on Thursday, September 26th and skyrocketed on the Steam player count charts. According to SteamDB, the game’s highest player count reached a whopping 53,884 that same Thursday.

To put that player count in perspective, when Throne and Liberty fully releases on Tuesday, October 1st, it will be a completely free Steam game. The players currently blowing up the Steam charts are those who have opted to purchase the $40 Early Access package, which is completely optional and merely represents the entry level, as some go even higher amounts paid, which makes the number all the more impressive.

The game has been such a success so far that the developers of Throne and Liberty announced on Saturday, September 28th that the server occupancy cap for American players would be increased to allow even more players to get in and play.

While it’s still early days and it’s always hard to say whether an MMORPG will last, there are many signs pointing to Throne and Liberty suggesting it could be a new mainstay in the genre.

If you’re interested in fortifying yourself before you get started, our guide to all the latest Throne and Liberty codes will help you get something for free, and our best Throne and Liberty weapons guide will give you a head start on mastering the MMO meta.

Scott Jennings compares Kamala’s border visit to an “arsonist” returning to the crime scene

Scott Jennings compares Kamala’s border visit to an “arsonist” returning to the crime scene

Vice President Kamala Harris’ big public relations trip to the southern border was like an “arsonist” returning to the scene of the crime, said CNN’s Scott Jennings.

After the Democratic candidate’s “totally staged” visit to Douglas, Arizona, the conservative pundit predicted it was a “tactical error” by Harris and her handlers and would leave voters only to remember her disastrous performance as Joe’s “border czar.” Biden would remind The country was flooded with millions of illegal immigrants, many of them criminals.

On Friday’s edition of “Anderson Cooper 360°” on the cable network, which was one of Harris’ biggest cheerleaders, Jennings explained the Veep’s stunt with host Anderson Cooper and former Obama administration official Van Jones.

(Video: CNN)

“She was doing something at the border, she wanted him to break up with Biden,” Jones announced sarcastically. “She broke up with Biden, so I expect Republicans to give her a lot of love today.”

“Scott Jennings, are you going to give her lots of love today?” Cooper asked.

“I love Brother Van as he knows, and I mean it, I love him like a brother, but no, there will be no love from me or the Republicans for Kamala Harris today,” Jennings responded. “In fact, I think the Trump campaign line today should be ‘arsonists return to the scene of the crime’.”

“I mean, look at the last three and a half years, the border has basically been opened,” he continued. “People pouring over, ICE released information today that there are currently 13,000 non-citizens convicted of murder and nearly 16,000 non-citizens convicted of some type of sex crime in the country.”

Jennings was referring to the impressive data from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement showing that over 600,000 criminal aliens have entered the U.S. and nearly 30,000 have been convicted of murder or sexual assault flow into the country through a permeable border.

“Just because we are in the shadow of an election, Kamala Harris is trying to rush and pay lip service to this issue as a tactical matter,” Jennings added. “I don’t think Harris should try to raise this issue because that is the best ground from which Donald Trump can fight. So no, I think the Harris campaign is making a tactical mistake, and I think they have very little say that the American people will accept this today.”

“According to the latest data, among criminals, 62,231 people were convicted of assault, 14,301 people were convicted of burglary, 56,533 were convicted of drug offenses and 13,099 people were convicted of homicide. Another 2,521 were convicted of kidnapping and 15,811 were convicted of sexual assault. There are another 1,845 with pending murder charges, 42,915 with assault charges, 3,266 with burglary charges and 4,250 with assault charges,” Fox News reported on the pre-election bombshell that shows the “border czar” is supporting the invasion of the country has allowed dangerous individuals to have foreign criminals under their supervision.

Neither Gojo nor Itadori could have been the protagonists of Jujutsu Kaisen with the ending that Gege Akutami gave to a character

Neither Gojo nor Itadori could have been the protagonists of Jujutsu Kaisen with the ending that Gege Akutami gave to a character

With Jujutsu Kaisen Since the book is slowly losing momentum and is almost coming to an end, the leaks for the final chapter have already caused a stir. The biggest mistake Jujutsu Kaisen Slowly, the serious lack of focus on the characters and the unanswered mysteries became apparent. Despite spending so much time with them, we know little to nothing about them and their characters are not fleshed out enough.

Yuji Itadori, the beloved protagonist, had been through a lot since the Shibuya arc, but that was about it. Fans are confused about where or what his domain extension is or what he might end up doing. Likewise, the famous Gojo Satoru, who is also known to non-anime fans, died far too early. So if the fan favorites couldn’t get the spotlight Jujutsu Kaisenthen who did it? Unfortunately the answer is Sukuna.

Spoiler alert!!!

Spoilers for the ending of Jujutsu Kaisen and the Shinjuku Showdown Arc!

The main characters are great but irrelevant

The majority of the characters Jujutsu Kaisen have been well received by the masses. From their eccentric personalities to their attractive looks, Gege Akutami nailed most aspects. Yuji Itadori is a charming protagonist who later suffers a lot and we see him become the hardened protagonist he is now.

Gojo Satoru isn’t just an all-powerful mentor; The pressure to be the strongest is enormous and he has lost too much. Megumi Fushiguro, the boy with so much potential, struggles to find his place in the world of jujutsu sorcery. Maki has suffered so much abuse and oppression at the hands of the elitist, misogynistic Zenin clan. However, in the long run, none of this matters.

After the Shinjuku Showdown arc, the plot started to fall apart. After Gojo Satoru’s tragic death, everyone else was left to pick up the pieces. Sukuna was essentially invincible and it was impossible to give him an advantage after taking over Megumi’s body.

Fans witnessed the deaths of several characters, some of which were incredibly unnecessary, before Yuji finally defeated him. In the end, surprisingly, it was Sukuna who developed the most. He admitted defeat and was a comforting figure to Uraume, something we never thought possible. But why did Gege lose focus on her main characters and elevate Sukuna?

The flaw in Gege Akutami’s character writing

Gojo is trapped in the Prison Realm by Jujutsu Kaisen.

Fans were rightly excited about the return of fan favorite Gojo Satoru, but the strongest wizard was killed off in a disappointing way. It almost felt disrespectful to his character and we all know Akutami notoriously dislikes him. Still, this isn’t a good excuse for how incomplete the author left the storylines of several other major characters. Instead, Akutami gave Sukuna a very powerful conclusion, even though fans were looking forward to his demise for several chapters as he gleefully murdered many.

Sukuna’s conclusion in the manga is undeniably quite interesting. The King of Curses has always been a fascinating character that you love to hate after a while. Unlike Mahito, he learns what loss and defeat are and accepts them. However, it doesn’t really explain why the main characters are incomplete and their development is almost nil. The main trio is largely reduced to the ambitious “power of friendship” trope. Sukuna Ryomen is essentially treated as the main character in the end, despite the lack of Heian-era lore and the hasty defeat.

Cleveland Browns vs. Las Vegas Raiders Preview and Prediction

Cleveland Browns vs. Las Vegas Raiders Preview and Prediction

The Cleveland Browns Could use a real game and this came just in time Las Vegas Raiders.

With news from Max Crosby And Davante Adams Since I would miss this game due to injury, a loss in Sin City would be more embarrassing than either of the Browns’ two losses so far this season. The Raiders are a team that is largely rebuilding right now, with a young roster and a fluid QB situation at the top Gardner Minshew at the moment.

The veteran QB has found some success throwing the ball this season, with Las Vegas boasting a top-four passing attack through three games. They average 244 yards through the air, but conversely are the worst rushing team in the league. They are also one of the worst run defenses in the NFL, allowing more than 152 yards on the ground per game.

Brown’s safety Grant Delpit called this a “must win” for his team. From the outside it certainly feels that way. Will Cleveland take care of business?

Sunday is simply a must win for the Cleveland Browns after their incredibly disappointing loss last week. Luck is on their side as the Raiders will lose both Crosby and Adams and the Browns will have to take advantage of the opportunity.

I think Kevin Stefanski and this offense will try to shrink the football game by leaning on the running game. I don’t think it will look pretty, but it will be effective. Cleveland’s defense will slam the door and the offense will do enough to get back on the plane with a 2-2 record.

Despite the gloom surrounding the Cleveland Browns right now, this team is still very much in the running for the AFC North. The Cincinnati Bengals and Baltimore Ravens are also struggling, while the Pittsburgh Steelers may have the toughest second-half schedule of any team.

After losing at home to the Dallas Cowboys earlier in the season, the Browns played an excellent first half against the Jacksonville Jaguars. I expect a similar scenario to play out. Cleveland lost at home to another NFC East opponent, the New York Giants, and will play a flawless first half against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Without Crosby and Adams, it became much more difficult for the Raiders to beat the Browns. Once again, Cleveland won’t break the 30-point mark, but they manage enough to win another low-scoring game.

A 2-2 start to the year certainly isn’t the end of the world considering how bad the Browns have been so far.

Cleveland broke my streak of correct picks last week against the New York Giants, so this week it’s time to redeem myself.

On paper, this should be a win for the Browns. The Raiders are in the middle of a quarterback controversy after Minshew’s rough start against the Carolina Panthers. However, second-year quarterback Aidan O’Connell looked good coming into the game last week, going 9-for-12 with a touchdown.

For the Browns to pull off a win on the road, the defense will need to step up and limit any type of production to relieve pressure from the quarterback Deshaun Watson.

Without Adams and Crosby in this game, the Raiders have absolutely no business winning this game. The only thing that concerns me is the fact that their head coach Antonio Pierce has really gravitated towards them after last week and a desperate, challenged football team can be a scary thing.

There’s also the context of what Minshew did with Indianapolis last year against the Browns, when he threw for 305 yards and scored four total touchdowns. However, this Raiders offense doesn’t have the talent to help him, especially without Adams.

In the meantime, this should be a good game for the offense. Whether or not they can put it all together seems like a big question at this point, but I’m reluctantly trusting that they’ll do enough to pull away from a losing Raiders team.
