OnePlus 13 will launch in October and we may already have the price, camera, processor and other details for India

OnePlus 13 will launch in October and we may already have the price, camera, processor and other details for India

OnePlus sent the tech world into a frenzy by confirming that the OnePlus 13 will launch in China in October, OnePlus China President Louis Lee announced. But the excitement isn’t over yet. Dropping more hints, Lee revealed that the flagship smartphone will feature the “latest generation of flagship chips.” This suggests that the OnePlus 13 may be powered by Qualcomm’s highly anticipated Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset, which could make the device a standout in terms of performance.

We don’t have a launch date for the OnePlus 13 yet. However, there have been several leaks surrounding the phone that hinted at possible pricing, chipset, camera and other details of the phone. Here’s everything we know about the phone so far.

One of the biggest highlights of the OnePlus 13 will be its focus on gaming, with Lee explaining that it will offer the industry’s first 120fps “Genshin Impact” gaming experience. With this ultra-fast frame rate and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset under the hood, you can expect impressive performance from the phone.

Design and display leaks on the OnePlus 13

In terms of design, recent leaks suggest that the OnePlus 13 will get a fresh look with a redesigned camera island, marking a departure from the camera designs of the OnePlus 12 and its predecessor. The new design is intended to give the OnePlus 13 a distinctive aesthetic, although no official images have been released yet.

On the display front, the OnePlus 13 is likely to retain the 2K resolution screen that has become a staple of OnePlus’ flagship devices. However, a notable innovation could be the integration of an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, which promises faster and more secure unlocking compared to the optical sensors typical in smartphones.

OnePlus 13 RAM and performance leaks

Under the hood, rumors are rife that OnePlus could break the mold with 24GB of RAM, which represents a huge leap in mobile performance, especially for tasks that require high processing power like AI applications and games. Such a large storage capacity would also improve multitasking capabilities and allow users to seamlessly switch between apps without experiencing slowdowns.

OnePlus 13 camera leaks

The camera setup on the OnePlus 13 is expected to be significantly improved, with a periscope camera sensor taking the lead. While specific details remain under wraps, the device is likely to use the same image processing algorithm as the upcoming Oppo Find X8 series. Combined with OnePlus’ long-standing partnership with Hasselblad, the OnePlus 13 could become a serious competitor in smartphone photography.

According to reports, the OnePlus 13 will feature a 50-megapixel main camera with a Sony LYT-808 sensor and an f/1.6 aperture. It will also include a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera that offers 3x optical zoom, promising versatility to photography enthusiasts.

The OnePlus 13 battery has leaked

Another recent report suggests that the upcoming OnePlus 13 is likely to feature a massive 6,000mAh battery. The leak also points to impressive charging capabilities, suggesting the device will support 100W wired charging and 50W wireless fast charging. These features would represent a significant improvement in battery performance and charging speed, ensuring users can charge their devices quickly and enjoy long-lasting usage throughout the day.

If this rumor proves true, the OnePlus 13 could appeal to users who value fast charging and longer battery life.

OnePlus 13 expected prices for India

As far as pricing is concerned, OnePlus has not yet provided any official information. However, the OnePlus 12 was launched in India for Rs 64,999 and the OnePlus 13 is expected to be priced similarly, although new features could push the price up slightly. While the phone is expected to launch in China first, users in India can expect its launch shortly after, continuing OnePlus’ tradition of staggered releases across markets. However, it is important to note that many of these details are based on rumors and leaks and there is no official confirmation from OnePlus yet.

5 reactions/overreactions from Cincinnati Bearcats Big 12 road loss at Texas Tech

5 reactions/overreactions from Cincinnati Bearcats Big 12 road loss at Texas Tech

Saturday marked the first night football game of the 2024 season for the University of Cincinnati Bearcats. It was also their first road loss of the season as they came up three points shy of a 44-41 loss to Texas Tech in a Big 12 game in Lubbock.

The Bearcats had one final possession with 1:52 left in which a touchdown would win or a field goal would tie the game. After strange circumstances, they prepared for a 51-yard field goal that missed just as time expired.

The Cincinnati Bearcats coach doesn’t mince words about the late 10-second run-off

When quarterback Brendan Sorsby slipped at the end of a run and two defenders rushed in headfirst, the first call was “targeting.” The play was reviewed and reversed with the flag raised, costing UC a controversial 10-second runoff. If there was no flag, he would have been down under college rules and the clock would keep running. No one will know whether the flag would have helped UC.

“He calls the penalty, they end up taking it, and still we get a 10-second penalty,” UC coach Scott Satterfield said. “We made a fool of ourselves no matter how you look at it. At the end you would like a little more time because I thought we had an opportunity to get down and probably get it in the end zone.”

So is the Bearcats’ glass half empty or half full when UC is 3-2 (1-1 Big 12) with seven league games left to play?

5 Reactions/Overreactions to a nail-biting Cincinnati Bearcats loss at Texas Tech

Fireworks went off after Texas Tech earned a 44-41 victory over the Cincinnati Bearcats

1. How do you shut out a team for a week and then give up a season high of 44 points?

reaction: Maybe the shutout against Houston wasn’t quite as good as Iowa State also beat the Cougars 20-0 on Saturday.

Overreaction: The 3-3-5 was carved like a Texas brisket. That’s not entirely inaccurate, but the Bearcats forced a few field goals in the game and got the ball back on offense for one last attempt. The defense lost Cam Roetherford early and was constantly shorthanded due to injuries, including the loss of two potential starters before the season as well as Dontay Corleone’s health issues over the summer.

Corleone remains optimistic about the 2024 Bearcats.

“We kept fighting and the offense kept cheering us on, even though we kept giving up big plays,” Corleone said. “That’s why our team is so tight-knit this year and I’m really enjoying that.”

Corleone told Sorsby after the game to keep his head up and “The Godfather” sees him as the leader of the team.

“He’s going to take us a long way this season,” Corleone said. “Just his leadership and his presence in our offense will help us.”

2. Without Corey Kiner, UC struggles to run the football

Reaction: Evan Pryor ran for 46 yards, but 36 were on one play. Manny Covey and Victor Dawson were also ineffective, while Texas Tech’s Tahj Brooks rumbled for 172 yards.

Overreaction: The Bearcats became one-dimensional. That’s partially true, but they found a way to get Covey to the ball with short passes, and he kept UC in the game with his first two college scores. Another defenseman, Chance Williams, was also sidelined with an injury and Pryor had hamstring problems. Senior associate AD Aaron Himmler’s practice squad will have a busy week ahead.

“It was one of our worst rushing offenses (games),” guard Luke Kandra said. “We just couldn’t get it done. We need to watch the film to correct our mistakes and move on.”

UC only topped 200 yards rushing in the opening game against Towson and the Miami RedHawks game.

3. Cincinnati Bearcats quarterback Brendan Sorsby is elite

Reaction: He beat his best runner and kept UC in the game. He set career highs in passing yards and touchdowns with 426 and four yards, respectively. Due to a thumb injury on his non-throwing hand, he played with a glove and also ran for 52 yards. He led Texas Tech quarterback Behren Morton in everything but scoring.

Overreaction: His interception returned for a touchdown made the difference in the game. Sorsby admitted after the game, but Satterfield took the blame for the play call. It was Sorsby’s first interception of the season and first in 148 throws.

“Regardless of whether the defense stops them or not, the mindset is we have to score, we have to put points on the board,” Sorsby said. “I think we’ve done a pretty good job lately. I threw one to the defense and that’s never good. I’ll take it.”

4. UC’s missed field goals made the difference

Reaction: Nathan Hawks missed a 42-yarder that would have given the Bearcats a 27-24 halftime lead. Then his 51-yard attempt at the end of the game went right wide.

Overreaction: Are you reopening the kicking competition? Carter Brown also missed twice in the first two games. It was Hawks’ first missed shots in college, and he converted two shorter kicks. In the aftermath, Satterfield seemed unwilling to change anything.

Nathan Hawks made field goals from 37 and 26 yards against Texas Tech, but missed from 42 and 51 yards, ending his perfect streak. The 51-yard attempt at the end of the game would have sent UC and Texas Tech into overtime.Nathan Hawks made field goals from 37 and 26 yards against Texas Tech but missed from 42 and 51 yards, ending his perfect streak. 5. Cincinnati Bearcats football needs to find ways to close out close games

Reaction: The fourth quarter disaster against Pitt is now looming, as the fan base would be less skeptical if the score was 4-1 than if it were 3-2.

Overreaction: Here we go again. Last season there were several games with one point or fewer. Nobody wants to see 3-9 again and most will tell you this team is better. Injuries played a big role as UC lost three running backs, two starting receivers and another defensive lineman by the end of the game. The schedule remains the same despite all of the team’s shortcomings.

“Anytime you lose a game like this, it’s easy to start pointing fingers,” Satterfield said. “We don’t have time for that. We have to keep cheering each other on in the locker room. We have great leadership on this team. We have to go into that training room and try to get healthy. The healthiest guys will go to Orlando (for UCF).

The Bearcats won’t lose this week

They have a much-needed bye before facing UCF on October 12th. Shadeur Sanders threw three touchdowns at UCF as Colorado beat the Knights 48-21 on Saturday. At 3-1, UCF travels to Gainesville next weekend to face Florida before hosting the Bearcats. DraftKings’ early lineup on Sunday favored the Gators with an advantage.

Highlighting the veteran presence in Mississippi through film

Highlighting the veteran presence in Mississippi through film

Mississippi is the place for movies. Several projects have been filmed in recent years, including in the greater Jackson area. An upcoming film called “Hotel Tehran” is in production in Jackson. The scenes were filmed all over the capital, including at Millsaps College. The film tells the story of veterans who struggle with their experiences in Afghanistan after returning home. The film’s stars include Liam Neeson and Zachary Levi. One person working on the film is Mississippi native John Read, who has worked as a location manager and scout for over 30 years. According to Read, Mississippi’s influence works even behind the scenes at Hotel Tehran. “We have quite a few Mississippians in Hotel Tehran, and it’s a big movie. This is the biggest film we’ve made in the last five to 10 years,” Read said. David Lipper, producer of “Hotel Tehran,” also said that the “immense presence of veterans and active duty personnel” in Mississippi was something the crews working on the film wanted to include. This is the final week of filming “Hotel Tehran” in the Jackson area before heading overseas.

I-20 closed, 17,000 in evacuation zone, residents shelter in place

I-20 closed, 17,000 in evacuation zone, residents shelter in place

What you need to know:

  • About 17,000 people were evacuated around the Biolab facility.

  • I-20 was closed between Salem Road and Turner Hill Road.

  • Schools in Newton County will be closed Monday due to a chemical fire.

  • Rockdale schools are closed this week, 12-month employees will work remotely.

  • Smoke could be visible for several days.

  • EPA and EPD are both on site to assess the situation.

  • The fire started around 5:30 a.m. Sunday.

  • The sprinkler system reacted with a chemical in the factory.

  • The roof of the building and several walls collapsed.

  • Piedmont Rockdale has housed some patients and others in emergency shelters.

What happened:

All Rockdale County residents have been ordered to shelter in place after a chemical fire broke out at the Biolab facility on Old Covington Highway.

It all started around 5:30 a.m. Sunday when the sprinkler system malfunctioned, apparently mixing with a chemical and forming a cloud. You can see the smoke rising for miles into the sky, changing color throughout the day, from black, white, red and now to a yellowish hue Channel 2’s Michael Doudna on Sunday evening.

Firefighters were able to bring the fire under control on Sunday morning, but it flared up again around 12:15 p.m

Officials say the fire has now been extinguished, but the building itself has collapsed.

“The roof and several walls have completely collapsed, so we have been trying to put everything together and move it away to create a better path to transport the product,” said Rockdale County Fire Chief Marian McDaniel.

Officials stress that people should take this seriously.

“If the cloud starts, it could become very dangerous and toxic. “So until we get those readings from EPA and EPD, we don’t know what these clouds are made of, so we want to make sure everyone stays safe and stays away from it as much as possible,” said Rockdale Emergency Management Director Sharon Webb County.

Evacuations and closures:

About 17,000 people were ordered to evacuate their homes, while the rest of those living in Rockdale County were ordered to shelter in place until at least midnight.

The sheriff’s office set up several evacuation sites: JP Carr Gym at 90 Hardin St SW, Scout Camp at 218 Scout Road in Covington and Wolverine Gym at 8134 Geiger Street in Covington.

The Rockdale County District Attorney said her office and the Rockdale County Courthouse will be closed Monday due to the fire.

Roads closed include:

  • Rockdale Industrial

  • Old Covington to Sigman Rd.

  • Covington to 2nd St.

  • Lester Rd. to Sigman Rd.

  • Farmer Road. from Sigman Rd. to Rockdale Industrial

  • Rockbridge from Sigman Rd. to Main St.

Some patients at Piedmont Rockdale Hospital were transferred.

“They have also started transferring patients to other facilities as a precautionary measure. They are not closed, just precautions are being taken to keep patients safe. And they are there for anyone who has an emergency or medical emergency. We encourage you to visit an area hospital in another county,” said Sharon Webb, Rockdale County EMA Director.

Reaction from Biolab:

Biolab released a statement that read:

“We are actively responding to an incident at our facility in Conyers, Georgia. No injuries were reported for our employees. Our team is on scene and working with first responders and local authorities to assess and contain the situation. As always, the safety of our community remains our top priority.”

Past incidents:

Unfortunately, you are aware of the problems in this work. Channel 2 action news has identified at least two incidents in the last 20 years that resulted in evacuations and/or road closures at the plant.

In a 2020 incident at the same location, the problem was a chemical commonly used to make swimming pool cleaning products that can produce fumes when in contact with water.

We are working to determine if this is the same issue this time.

Jayden Daniels should give Bears fans FOMO with a historic start

Jayden Daniels should give Bears fans FOMO with a historic start

The Chicago Bears had the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft and it was no secret who they would select. USC quarterback Caleb Williams was considered a generational prospect and Chicago wasted no time in making him the first No. 1 overall pick in the Super Bowl era.

Williams was expected to immediately transform a franchise that has lacked adequate quarterback deployment for most of its history. Chicago’s offseason should be different from previous failed attempts to find a franchise quarterback.

The Bears spent the offseason acquiring offensive talent for Williams. Chicago selected wide receiver Rome Odunze with the No. 9 overall pick and brought in veteran Keenan Allen to join wide receiver DJ Moore. The addition of running back D’Andre Swift in the backfield helped create a complete arsenal of weapons.

Still, the Bears ignored their offensive line and Williams struggled in the first month. Instead, Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels appeared to be the best rookie passer through the first four games of the season.

The Commanders secured the No. 2 overall pick after finishing 2023 with a 4-13 record and used that pick to take the reigning Heisman Trophy winner.

Daniels began the season with offensive limitations that limited him to a conservative approach, but the offense slowly opened up with each snap. In the last two games, Daniels has stunned the league.

The LSU product completed 26 of 30 passes for 233 yards and a touchdown, leading the Commanders to a 42-14 win in Week 4. That performance brought his completion percentage to 82.1 percent, the highest in league history to start a season, according to NFL insider Jordan Schulz.

According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Daniels also became the first quarterback in NFL history to play two consecutive games with a completion percentage of at least 85 percent or better (at least 15 attempts in each game).

Daniels might cause some unwanted flashbacks for Chicago fans who have had some painful experiences drafting quarterbacks.

The Bears infamously traded multiple picks to move up the draft board for quarterback Mitch Trubisky, whom they selected with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. Shortly thereafter, the Kansas City Chiefs selected quarterback Patrick Mahomes with the No. 10 overall pick and the Houston Texans selected quarterback Deshaun Watson with the No. 12 overall pick.

The decision to move on from Mahomes and Watson has plagued the Bears organization ever since, especially as the Chiefs grew into a dynasty.

While Daniels thrived, Williams struggled behind a porous offensive line. The rookie had a 4.9 passer rating against the Lightning in Week 2, his worst in any game since at least 2016, according to NFL’s Next Gen Stats.

Through the first three games of the season, Williams completed just 59.3 percent of his passes for 630 yards with two touchdowns and four interceptions.

However, not all hope is lost for Williams. On Sunday he played a much more efficient game. The No. 1 overall pick completed 17 of 23 passes for 157 yards and a touchdown. The turnover-free performance helped the Bears to their second win of the season. Although the numbers aren’t overwhelming, it was the best game of his young career.

While the Commanders have taken a conservative approach to ease Daniels into the NFL, Chicago appears to have fewer plans for developing Williams.

A more deliberate and conservative approach would likely benefit the young quarterback. If Chicago continues to fall 52 times like it did in Week 3, the team will likely wish they had made a different selection with the top pick.

Osaka advances on Beijing; ensures the showdown in the fourth round against Gauff

Osaka advances on Beijing; ensures the showdown in the fourth round against Gauff

Former world No. 1 Naomi Osaka of Japan moved into the round of 16 of the China Open on Monday with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Katie Volynets of the USA.

The third round game was postponed a day due to rain, but the overnight delay didn’t hinder Osaka one bit. Four-time Grand Slam champion Osaka won her first meeting with world number 60 Volynets in 1 hour and 17 minutes of play.

Gauff clash confirmed: With the win, Osaka set up a big fourth-round showdown against No. 4 seed Coco Gauff, which will take place on Tuesday. It will be the first meeting between the two Grand Slam winners in over two years.

Osaka and Gauff have split their four previous encounters evenly, taking turns winning each year between 2019 and 2022. Gauff won their last meeting in San Jose in August 2022 6:4, 6:4.

Former champion on the road to success: This is Osaka’s first appearance in Beijing since she won the China Open title in 2019. Osaka is the only former champion to compete in this two-week main draw and has an outstanding record of 13-2 wins and losses in the event .

Osaka showed her top form in the first three rounds and only lost one set against number 21 seed Yulia Putintseva. This is the first time since Rome in May that Osaka has won three games in a row.

Osaka, who returned from maternity leave in the first week of this season and is currently ranked 73rd in the world, has won all seven of her WTA singles titles on hardcourt. She is aiming for her first title since the 2021 Australian Open.

Game moments: Osaka entered Monday’s encounter having been winless against the Americans since returning to the tour. This year she lost to Danielle Collins in Abu Dhabi, Emma Navarro at Wimbledon and Ashlyn Krueger in Cincinnati qualifying.

But the Japanese player beat that strange statistic with a strong performance against Volynets. Osaka was confident on serve on Monday, winning 82 percent of her first serve points and never having a break point all day.

The former world number 1’s strong forehand quickly gave her a 3-0 lead to open the game. With the score at 5-2 in the first set, Osaka hit two aces and a forehand winner to reach triple set point, then ended the love hold with a backhand winner.

Another rally backhand winner gave Osaka a quick break at 2-1 in the second set and it went from there. Volynets did well to save a match point at 5-1 and force Osaka to serve out the match, but Osaka was up to the task and canceled out a forehand error from the American on match point number two.

There’s more to come…
