Even Christine Baranskiwho plans to feature Tanya in the films has been thinking about the possibility of another film.

“I was in London with you [producer] Judy Craymer at our favorite bar is planning Mamma Mia 3. She told me the plot of how it’s going to happen. That’s all I can say!” said the actress The Hollywood Reporter in August. “It’s not like, ‘Oh, I wish it could happen!’ Judy Craymer makes things happen. She made No. 2 possible and it was a phenomenal success. I wouldn’t put it past Judy Craymer to get everyone back together.”

The latest PS5 update makes jailbreaking very difficult

The latest PS5 update makes jailbreaking very difficult

It looks like this PS5 Jailbreak will remain a pipe dream for the modding community for a very, very long time after the system software update in September 2024 (currently version 24.06-10.01.00). As Sony continues to battle PS4 jailbreaking, the company has quietly changed the way game licenses work on the PS5 to ensure it stays one step ahead of hackers this time around.

How the PS5 September 2024 Update Affects the Possibility of Jailbreaking

Noted modder Lance McDonald pointed out on Previously, players could download licenses for every single digital game they’ve ever owned with the click of a button. Now they can only re-download licenses for games they currently have installed.

How does this affect jailbreaking? According to McDonald, players will lose access to their digital library if they take their PS5 offline and jailbreak it. In the past, players could create illegal dumps of their entire PSN library and save them to a USB stick for sharing and mod/hack any game they owned.

McDonald added that hackers were once able to access their PSN libraries offline and on jailbroken consoles, emphasizing that gamers are essentially licensing digital games rather than owning them.

Just recently, California passed a law forcing companies like Sony to disclose that gamers don’t buy digital content.

A main advantage of Apple’s iPhone Pro models is the higher quality camera for photos and videos.

As for the rear cameras, the base model iPhone 16 has a 48-megapixel wide-angle camera and a 12-megapixel ultrawide camera, while the 16 Pro has a 48-megapixel wide-angle camera with a larger and faster 48-megapixel image sensor. If you want to do more with your camera (or just want to zoom in on a concert without losing quality), the Pro’s premium features might be tempting.

View, size and weight

The iPhone 16 has a 6.1-inch OLED display, while the 16 Pro is 6.3 inches. The 16 has a 60Hz refresh rate, while the Pro has a 120Hz refresh rate, making animations, scrolling and gaming look smoother. Both have a pixel density of 460 ppi and a peak brightness of 2,000 nits.

The iPhone 16 is 5.81 inches tall, 2.82 inches wide and 0.31 inches thick. The 16 Pro’s dimensions aren’t too far off: 5.89 inches high, 2.81 inches wide, and 0.32 inches thick. The Baseline 16 weighs 170g (6 ounces), while the Pro weighs 199g (7.03 ounces). The materials also vary: the iPhone 16 has an aluminum housing, while the 16 Pro is made of titanium alloy.

Both have Dynamic Island as well as an action button and a camera control button.

The iPhone 16 is available in black, white, pink, teal and ultramarine, while the iPhone 16 Pro is available in black titanium, white titanium, natural titanium and desert titanium. All are waterproof and have an IP68 rating.

Both support charging via USB-C. Since there’s no fingerprint sensor, you’ll have to use Face ID or a passcode.

Apple doesn’t disclose battery capacity, but says the iPhone 16 has up to 22 hours of video playback (18 hours streamed), while the 16 Pro has up to 27 hours of video playback (22 hours streamed). Both feature wired charging (Apple doesn’t disclose the speed) and MagSafe wireless charging at up to 25 watts with a 30-watt adapter or higher. They also support Qi2 charging up to 15 watts.

The 16 is powered by an A18 chip, while the 16 Pro features the more powerful (and aptly named) A18 Pro chip. They each come with iOS 18 and will support Apple Intelligence when it launches later this year.

iPhone 16 and 16 Pro: Which one should you buy?

Here’s the iPhone 16 Pro with a preview version of Apple Intelligence, which brings a number of improvements to Siri, including a new glowing edge.

James Martin/CNET

For the majority of people, the iPhone 16 has more than enough to offer. Its cameras are great for photos and videos. The phone runs iOS 18, features notable updates like customizable home screens and apps, new emoji tapbacks for iMessages, and supports satellite SMS. It even comes in a variety of bright, saturated colors. The iPhone 16’s biggest downside is its screen, which still has a 60Hz refresh rate and looks pretty decent compared to Pro iPhones. If you have an iPhone 13 or older, the iPhone 16 is a wonderful upgrade.

However, if you’re looking for even better cameras with the ability to zoom in closer to subjects, or just want a better viewing experience, the iPhone 16 Pro is worth a look. The phone offers enough amenities and offers creative photographers and filmmakers many artistic options – but at a higher price. If you have an iPhone 12 Pro or older, upgrading to the iPhone 16 Pro makes sense. If you’re carrying an iPhone 13 Pro and running low on battery capacity, it’s also worth considering the 16 Pro. However, if you have an iPhone 14 Pro or 15 Pro, no upgrade is required.

How she spent her last days before a fatal car accident

How she spent her last days before a fatal car accident

Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes, along with her TLC groupmates Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins and Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas, left a lasting legacy before her untimely death in 2002.

The rapper died on April 25, 2002, during a month-long spiritual retreat in Honduras. She was driving a rental car when she suddenly swerved to avoid an oncoming vehicle, causing the car to flip several times after hitting two trees.

Lopes and the seven other passengers flew from the car, but Lopes was the only one to suffer a fatal injury, dying instantly from a fractured skull The New York Times.

In the years since her death, her bandmates and fans have mourned her and upheld her legacy. Several documentaries have also been made about her life and final days, including one in 2007 Last days of the left eye.

“I talked to her once in my life and she said how much she and Tupac had in common and how similar they were,” director Lauren Lazin told NPR in 2007. “And she said to me, ‘I wouldn’t be surprised if I die young too.”

Here’s everything you need to know about Lisa Lopes’ death.

Who was Lisa Lopes?

Lopes gained fame as one of the members of TLC, a girl group formed in 1990 and named after the first letter of each woman’s name. They performed together in the 1990s until Lopes felt her creativity was stifled after the 1999s FanMailwhich caused the group to temporarily disband.

In her personal life, Lopes was also known to date Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Andre Rison. The two had a turbulent relationship, culminating in an infamous incident in 1994 in which Lopes set fire to Rison’s sneakers in his home, resulting in the entire mansion burning down.

Towards the end of her career, the rapper had a bad relationship with her bandmates and felt that her voice was no longer properly represented in their music. Ultimately, however, the three women saw each other as sisters, Watkins said in a 2001 interview with the Associated Press.

“With three women, you agree to disagree,” she said. “I won’t always agree with Lisa, and she won’t always agree with me. That’s okay.”

Lopes died in Honduras, where she often visited for days or months and lived in her apartment near a “healing village,” her publicist Jay Marose told the press at the time. In early 2002, she returned to the country for a spiritual retreat, hoping to share her love of the culture and healing rituals with her family and friends, bringing along her brother, sister and producers.

At the same time, Lopes was making a documentary about Honduras and the Garifuna, an English-speaking people with African roots.

“It was something very personal to her and it was something she liked to share with people,” Marose said The New York Times after her death. “Lisa loved to travel and loved discovering new places.” “She loved cultures that were really, really spiritual.”

“Left Eye” was driving a rented Mitsubishi Montero outside a village called Roma when she lost control of the vehicle and plunged it into a ravine.

“The cause of the accident was that Ms. Lopes lost control of the car,” said Luis Aguilar, a spokesman for the San Pedro Sula Police Department The New York Times. “The car overturned for reasons that we do not yet know and are currently under investigation.”

Lopes’ brother and sister, as well as members of a small band from Atlanta, Egypt, were in the car, but all survived. The producers of Lope’s documentary were also in the vehicle and had the cameras rolling when the accident occurred, leaving behind footage that was later used Last days of the left eye.

“I didn’t see any evidence of a crime,” director Lazin told NPR, asking if she had any theories about Lopes’ accident. “There are some questions about the car itself, whether it was, you know, faulty brakes or whether there was something wrong with the car itself.”

What did Lisa Lopes say about death?

The “No Scrubs” singer had clearly expressed that she was not afraid of death and had often said that she believed in the renewal of energy.

“She said, ‘But, you know, I don’t really see death as a bad thing,'” Lazin told NPR of a conversation she had with Lopes months before her death. “‘I see it as a transformation of energy, I see it in a different way than a lot of people see it.’ ”

After her death, Lopes’ family established a foundation in her honor, the Lisa Lopes Foundation, to donate money to underprivileged children and provide them with resources to improve their lives. The slogan used was Lopes’ own spiritual motto, “Energy never dies…it just transforms.”

What legacy did Lisa Lopes leave behind?

After her untimely death, just a month before her 31st birthday, Lopes leaves behind a lasting legacy. Watkins and Thomas never chose to replace her in their group and continued to make music as a pure duo, honoring her in the process.

They released their first album without Lopes, TLCin 2017, after abandoning the fourth studio album they were working on together at the time of Lopes’ death.

“We know she wants us to continue with TLC and make sure her legacy lives on through us,” Thomas told PEOPLE in 2017.

Wolbachia mosquitoes will be released at five new locations in Singapore to combat dengue fever

Wolbachia mosquitoes will be released at five new locations in Singapore to combat dengue fever

The expansion came after the NEA found an 80 to 90 percent decline in the Aedes aegypti mosquito population in its multi-site field study.

The two-year study, which began in July 2022, was intended to determine the impact of Wolbachia technology on dengue cases and clusters, in addition to its impact on the Aedes population. The study will release Wolbachia mosquitoes in locations such as Bedok, Choa Chu Kang and Punggol.

Initial results of the study suggest that residents of these locations are about 75 percent less likely to be infected with dengue fever, NEA said.

Speaking to reporters at a community event on Thursday, Sustainability and Environment Minister Grace Fu said the average monthly number of dengue cases fell from 3,000 cases in 2022 – when Singapore experienced a dengue outbreak – to 1,300 this year be.

“This is a very encouraging sign. We want to continue and expand the Wolbachia project, but of course this is not a panacea. We must continue to ensure residents practice good housekeeping practices to keep mosquito breeding to a minimum.”

She added that the NEA is yet to complete the study and examine the cost benefit, effectiveness and capacity of the project.

“We need to complete the study so we can compare the results. So it’s not just about the number of (dengue) cases, because the number of cases also depends on factors like the weather and … whether we have an outbreak,” she said.

“We want to carry out the study properly because it obviously requires investment in production capacity.”

What’s on your desk, David Pierce?

What’s on your desk, David Pierce?

David Pierce is The edgeis editor-in-chief. What is an Editor-in-Chief? It means, he says, “Well, nothing.” I write stories, do podcasts and write a newsletter called Installerbut mostly I spend a lot of time convincing people that they like to-do list apps as much as I do.”

We asked him to tell us something about his workplace.

It looks like you’ve set up your office in a basement lounge.

Yes, it’s a basement, office, guest room, storage room, play area and designated dog sleeping area all in one. I used to have a more office-like office in our house, but then we had a kid and now it’s my wife’s office – I’ve been relegated to the basement because I don’t mind how cold it is down here all the time. Whenever we have child #2, I don’t know what we’ll do.

Between the couch, liquor cabinet, and basketball hoop, not to mention the sliding doors that lead to your backyard, it feels like a cozy space.

It’s beautiful down here! I deeply regret purchasing a 42″ TV just for this room because with a little work and a much larger screen this could be a pretty awesome place to hang out and watch movies. But even now it suits me quite well, especially when it’s nice outside and I can leave the sliding doors open all day.

The biggest downside to this setup is that all of these things are also my background in video calls and recording podcasts. So I’m constantly torn between wanting it to feel comfortable and fun and needing it to look and be put together at least a little bit professionally. This means I spend a lot of time putting blankets and pillows on and off the couch.

On nice days the sliding doors can be kept open.

Not many home offices have sofas this comfortable.

Maybe a bigger TV would have been better?

Could you tell us a little about the desk itself?

The desk is a black Ikea Alex desk on two white Ikea Alex filing cabinets. I’ve tried many different desks over the years and it turns out that I’m mostly just Space. This desk isn’t anything special and I really wish I could convert it into a standing desk, but it’s huge and cheap and does the job. However, the tabletop itself is starting to wear down quite a bit, so it may be time to replace this part.

The other pieces of furniture on top are from Ugmonk’s Gather collection, which I wrote a while ago and purchased after I finished the story. I have the 2×3 organizer set and the large monitor stand, both of which are very expensive for what they are, but I love the look of them – and the story and intent behind them.

I just had to search for the name on Amazon: it’s the “HON Office Chair Black |”. Ignition 2.0 | Ergonomic | Adjustable tilt, rotating wheels, comfortable for long hours” which should basically tell you everything you need to know about how good and stylish it is. I bought it in 2021 for $332 after doing a lot of research because I just couldn’t afford a really high quality desk chair. I’ve always had back problems, and this one has served me really well – it’s starting to tear a bit, and one of the arms split open a few weeks ago, but I sit in this thing too many hours a week, and I live to tell the story.

Here’s the long question: Tell us about the different tech devices you use.

My computer is an M1 Mac Mini, which I love but also can’t Wait to update on what Apple is launching next. It’s connected to a 27″ Dell UltraSharp U2723QE monitor that I recently purchased and am loving so far. There is an Insta360 Link webcam above it.

Dell UltraSharp U2723QE monitorDell UltraSharp U2723QE monitorDell UltraSharp U2723QE monitor

Dell 27-inch monitor with 4K UHD 2160p resolution and 16:9 aspect ratio.

I have a surprising amount of Logitech gear: I use the MX Master 3S mouse and the MX Keys S keyboard, both of which are best in class for me. I use the Z207 computer speakers, which are aggressively mediocre, but they were like $40, so whatever.

My phone and Apple Watch are mostly charged via the Twelve South HiRise 3 charging station, which is beautiful and minimalist but so annoyingly slow that sometimes I want to throw it out the window. I need to update this thing.

I keep a 13-inch iPad Air on my desk (it’s a review unit, so it won’t stay this way forever, but there’s always a tablet with me) for when I want to watch something while I’m working or when I’m out and about testing an app or game. Even if I have something really long to read, sometimes I pick up the iPad and sit back in the chair instead of staring at my monitor.

$399

Shure’s SM7B is one of the gold standards of the professional podcast world. This broadcast-quality dynamic microphone features a cardioid polar pattern to isolate your voice – helpful in both the studio and your home setup.

My podcasting setup consists of a Shure SM7B microphone on a Rode PS1 arm, connected to a Cloudlifter (if you know), connected to a Scarlett 2i2 interface, and plugged directly into the Mac Mini. I use an Elgato ring light to make my face look less bad on camera. The other part of the setup is two cushions that I put on my desk to block out noise – is this technology? I use the same Sony MDR7506 headphones as every other podcaster out there; I’ve had this pair for years, although I’ve had to replace the ear cups a few times. When I’m not wearing my headphones, they hang on an Audio-Technica AT-HPH300 headphone holder, which is completely unnecessary but makes my desk feel less cluttered.

$98

Sony’s MDR-7506 closed-back headphones are a mainstay when it comes to audio and video production, with sturdy design and good sound for the price.

These are all permanent things; Everything else is a rotating selection of gadgets I’m testing, things I’ve purchased but will definitely either return or gift to a family member, and charging cables. There are always so many charging cables.

You may have fewer decorations in your workplace than many of your colleagues, but the adorable Father’s Day art is hard to miss.

I didn’t realize it until you said it, but every decoration in this basement was made by a family member. My wife has painted the painting I have behind me in every podcast and every meeting. my mother drew pictures of our two dogs sitting on the mantel behind me; and my son seems to come home from daycare with artwork two or three times a week. Sometimes it’s not very good (don’t tell him I said that), and sometimes my wife and I argue about who gets to hang it. Luckily I can win if it’s art for Father’s Day.

Some Father’s Day artwork serves as decoration.

And then there’s the Lego plant, the Lego chef and the Rubik’s cube under your monitor.

Both Lego items were wedding gifts! The plant from my wife’s best friend’s wedding recently – the bride and groom were both really into plants and made one for each guest. The chef is from my best friend’s wedding a few years ago; The couple chose Lego characters that they felt best represented each guest. I’ve never asked him why I’m a chef, but I love it. I’m going for his facial hair.

I bought the Rubik’s Cube during the pandemic when, out of boredom, I decided to learn two things: juggle and solve a Rubik’s Cube. I learned to juggle! I still can’t solve the problem. But it won’t leave my desk until I learn it. Plus, it’s just fun to play around with while on the phone.

It looks like you’re reading Character Limit: How Elon Musk Broke Twitter. How is the book?

It’s great so far! I always try to keep a printed book on my desk for checking out after work or just stopping looking at screens for a few minutes. I should probably read TikTok rather than scroll, you know? Usually it’s something like a super spy novel, but right now it’s this one. Even after following and discussing this story closely, some of the details are overwhelming. And usually not in a positive way.

Is there anything else we didn’t cover that you’d like to add?

You may have noticed the pile of dangling cables on the right side of my desk. This is the best thing I’ve ever done; I drilled a hole in the back of the filing cabinet, put a power strip in it, and built myself a charging drawer. Sometimes I charge things indoors and keep them organized, and that’s also where I keep all the things that are being charged on a mat or pad or whatever, but most of the time it’s just the big tangle of cables. It has a Lightning cable, a Micro-USB cable, a few proprietary cables for various devices, and a range of USB-C cables. It’s not pretty, but boy, does it make life easier when you never have to search for a plug or cable. Charging stations for victory!

Daylight Saving Time: When will the clocks change in 2024?

Daylight Saving Time: When will the clocks change in 2024?

The twice-yearly time change for most US states is coming up in just a few weeks.

WASHINGTON – There is only a month left until most clocks in the United States are “set back” by an hour.

On November 3rd, the first Sunday in November, Daylight Saving Time ends for 2024. At 2 a.m. that Sunday, clocks will go back an hour, allowing most people an extra hour of sleep.

The change will result in earlier sunrises and nightfall well before 7 p.m. Only in March 2025 will we set our clocks to “go ahead” again.

Frequent moves in Congress have attempted to make daylight saving time permanent, eliminating the practice of changing our clocks twice a year. However, the bills usually die before they even come close to becoming law.

With little to no progress made on this latest legislation, Americans will continue to “fall back” in 2024 and “leap forward” next year.

RELATED: Lock the clock: Here’s where each state stands on making daylight saving time permanent

When does summer time end?

Daylight saving time in 2024 ends at 2 a.m. on Sunday, November 3rd

Why was daylight saving time introduced?

The practice has been implemented in some form since World War I, when Germany originally introduced it to save electricity and energy by extending daylight hours.

The Standard Time Act of 1918 marked the first implementation of daylight saving time on American clocks. The temporary measure, once nicknamed “wartime,” was in effect from spring to fall and was intended to reduce energy costs during World War I. The law is also responsible for the five time zones that are still in effect today.

The Department of Transportation was created in 1966 and was given regulatory authority over time zones and daylight saving time. To correct confusing and changing time zones, the Uniform Time Act of 1966 sought a nationwide standard for daylight saving time from the last Sunday in April to the last Sunday in October.

Since then there have been few changes. The last time daylight saving time was extended by a few weeks was in 2005, when former President George Bush changed the law. It is now celebrated from the second Sunday in March to the first Sunday in November.

Despite statewide observance, Arizona and Hawaii do not observe Daylight Saving Time. Under federal law, states are permitted to opt out of daylight saving time and remain on standard time, but are not permitted to remain on daylight saving time.

The U.S. has implemented year-round daylight saving time twice before, once during World War II to save fuel and once in 1974 as a “test run” during an energy crisis.

Stock Split Watch: Is Netflix Next?

Stock Split Watch: Is Netflix Next?

Stock split or not, Netflix stock might be worth considering.

Why are stock splits so popular?

Well, for starters, There is some evidence for this Stocks perform better after a stock split. And although it is far from it an established factThis is what investors should know.

That means Nothing of most apparently Stock splits create opportunities: the chance for investors to buy shares at a cheaper price.

With that in mind, let’s take a look at a stock that could be about to announce a stock split: Netflix (NFLX -1.05%).

A quick refresher on stock splits

Before we delve deeper into why Netflix may be about to split its stock, let’s take a look at what a stock split is.

What is crucial is that nothing changes as a result of a stock split any of the underlying fundamentals of a company – it simply changes the number of shares issued and their price.

To understand this, imagine a dollar bill. Everyone knows that a $1 bill is worth $1. If you take that dollar bill to the bank and ask the teller to give you four quarters, you still have $1 – just in the form of four Quarter, instead of an invoice.

Stock splits work the same way.

If a company’s stock is trading at $400 and It When a 4-for-1 stock split occurs, each shareholder receives four new shares (worth $100 each) in exchange for one old share.

The basics of the company, including sales, profits and cash flow, are not affected by the change.

Why Netflix may be ready to break up

Okay, now that we’ve recapped what a stock split is, let’s dive into why Netflix seems poised to announce one.

First out ofIt’s worth pointing out that Netflix didn’t do it a stock split in years – almost a decadeActually. The company last split its shares in 2015 and completed a 7-for-1 stock split in July 2015.

Since then, Netflix has not split its shares, which explains why the company’s stock is trading at more than $700 per share (as of this writing). That’s a lot to spend on a single share, and Netflix stock has hit new all-time highs, but there are other reasons why the company might want to do a split.

For example, companies often provide their employees with stock-based compensation (SBC). In the case of Netflix, the company issued $339 million worth of SBC in 2023. However, if a company’s stock price rises too much, it can become difficult to optimize an employee’s SBC.

Additionally, there are other, more technical reasons why the company may want to split its sharesto. High-priced stocks can be problematic for options traders and lead to illiquid trading on exchanges as the stock’s bid-ask spread widens.

In short, companies often want to keep their stock price between $100 and $300 to avoid these complications.

Will Netflix split its shares? And Is it a purchase now?

In short: Yes, I believe Netflix will announce a stock split, possibly as early as October. The company reports its next quarterly results on October 17, and that would be an obvious time for the company to share news of an impending stock split.

In any case, investors should now take a close look at Netflix. The company is on a roll as its revenue growth has returned and its operating margin has surged after a difficult earnings stretch in 2022. The company has clearly turned the corner and is outperforming many of its competitors in the streaming wars. In short: I think Netflix remains a great buy-and-hold stock for long-term investors.
