Addie Davis signs with West Virginia Wesleyan for basketball

SAINT MARYS, W.Va. (WTAP) – St. Marys High School hosted a signing ceremony Friday for Addie Davis, who will travel from Saint Marys to Buckhannon to play basketball for the West Virginia Wesleyan Bobcats.

Davis’ friends, family, teammates and coaches were on hand and several of them spoke about their St. Marys girls basketball career, including head coach Fred King.

Davis is entering her senior year with the Lady Blue Devils and is coming off a junior season in which she was named the Little Kanawha Conference Player of the Year.

She’s excited to get started with the Bobcats, but is also ready to get back on the court for her senior year at St. Marys as the team looks to build on last season’s 18 wins.

She shares her thoughts on why she made the decision to play Division II basketball for West Virginia Wesleyan.

“I really like the location of the school, I think it has great teachers, I love the coaching staff,” Davis said. “The new girls coming into my class, I love them. I’ve played AAU with them before and they’re a great group of girls. I know a few of the girls who are there now and are going to be high school students and I love them. I think they have a great work ethic and that they have the right mentality and mindset.
