“He slid into her DMs“is inspired by the true story of a high school-aged social media influencer whose stalker showed up on her doorstep with a gun after she blocked him online. In the film, 17-year-old Berni’s life seems perfect: she is popular, is going to NYU in the fall and is an aspiring social media influencer. But behind her perfect facade, Berni’s life is chaos. Her best friend cheats on her, she struggles to get more followers, and her boyfriend Zack dumps her. Heartbroken, Berni begins a friendship with Mason, one of her online fans, and agrees to sell him private “fan photos.” After Berni and Zack get back together, Berni tries to break up with Mason, but things turn deadly.
