Bucks head coach Doc Rivers was named co-chair of Athletes for Harris ahead of the election

Milwaukee Bucks head coach Doc Rivers has been named one of 10 co-chairs of the newly formed Athletes for Harris ahead of the November election, the campaign announced Saturday morning. The campaign featuring celebrity athletes is expected to run ads at key sports moments leading up to the election, including college and NFL football games and the World Series. Rivers and the other campaign co-chairs said they would help recruit fellow athletes to the campaign through travel, fundraising and social media. “To all the athletes out there, don’t be afraid to use your platforms – we need all of you to get involved,” said Earvin “Magic” Johnson, another named co-chair. “Let your friends know that Vice President Harris has an agenda that will move the country forward. The Magic Man is on board.” The remaining co-chairs are expected to be named later Saturday. Democratic vice presidential candidate Tim Walz will campaign in Michigan on Saturday and attend the University of Michigan-Minnesota football game before his first and only debate on Tuesday night.
