MIAMI, Oct. 23 (UPI) — Bo Nix and Matthew Stafford are among my five must-see fantasy football quarterbacks for Week 8.

Jordan Love tops my top 20 quarterback rankings, listed below. Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, Joe Burrow and Jalen Hurts are among my other top five picks. CJ Stroud, Tua Tagovailoa, Kirk Cousins, Aaron Rodgers and Nix round out my top 10.

My Week 8 running back and wide receiver rankings are still available for your preparation. My article on free agent targets is available here.

My position rankings will continue to be updated in light of developments, including injuries. Those drafting Jayden Daniels should monitor his training status before using him.

Tagovailoa, Drake Maye and Kirk Cousins are among my must-start options alongside Nix and Matthew Stafford. There are also several streaming options in my ranking.

Every one of my must-start options lands in the top 14 of my quarterback rankings.

Tua Tagovailoa

Tagovailoa, who was also one of my wire waiver targets, is the No. 7 player in my Week 8 quarterback rankings. The Miami Dolphins quarterback will end his concussion-induced hiatus and return to action for the first time since Week 2 return to the playing field.

He will play an exhibition game against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday in Miami Gardens, Florida. The Cardinals allowed quarterbacks the seventh-most passing yards and fifth-most fantasy points per game through seven weeks. They also surrendered just 349 yards to Justin Herbert in Week 7 and four touchdown throws to Jordan Love in Week 6.

Expect Tagovailoa to have a great restart to his 2024 season. I expect at least 250 yards and two scores from the Dolphins quarterback.

Kirk Cousins

Cousins is the No. 8 player in my Week 8 quarterback rankings. The Atlanta Falcons veteran turned in an epic performance of 509 yards and four touchdowns in Week 5 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, with just two total touchdown passes in the last two weeks, but should bounce back with a Week 8 rematch against the Buccaneers.

The Buccaneers allowed the second-most fantasy points and fourth-most passing yards per game to opposing quarterbacks this season. This section includes Lamar Jackson’s five touchdowns last week.

Cousins should provide elite value again in Week 8.

Bo Nix

Nix is a good starting option if your normal starter is injured or facing a tough matchup. The Denver Broncos rookie totaled at least 200 passing yards in four of the first seven starts of his career. He threw multiple touchdown passes in two of his last three games. He also performed valuable services as a runner.

This week, the Broncos face a Carolina Panthers defense that has allowed opposing quarterbacks the fourth-most fantasy points per game so far this season. I expect it to be a close game with Nix finding the end zone multiple times. It should provide top-10 value.

Drake Maye

Maye, who was one of my must-start plays in Week 7, returns to the list in Week 8. The New England Patriots rookie scored the sixth-most points overall among quarterbacks last week when he threw for 276 yards and scored two scores in a loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

This week, Maye and the Patriots face a New York Jets defense that allowed Russell Wilson just 264 passing yards and three total points.

Maye, my #11 option, can be connected as a streaming starter.

Matthew Stafford

Stafford is ranked 13th in my Week 8 rankings. The Los Angeles Rams veteran has struggled this season, but will have one of his best weapons back: wide receiver Cooper Kupp. Kupp’s presence, coupled with what I believe is a high-caliber game script, should result in stats worthy of starting Stafford.

The Rams are scheduled to host the Minnesota Vikings, who have allowed the second-most passing yards (285.3) per game to opposing quarterbacks through seven weeks.

Look for Stafford to set a season high in pass attempts in this matchup. He should eclipse 250 passing yards and has a chance to find the end zone more than once.
