As we approach the holiday shopping season, a number of new stores have opened in Maple Grove, including a new boutique called Mama’s Happy

“We are very excited to be here,” said Ashley Lindquist, owner of Mama’s Happy. “It was just wonderful in the Maple Grove community. Everyone is just so warm and friendly and looking forward to seeing us. So that was encouraging.”

Mama’s Happy opened Oct. 10 on Main Street. The boutique offers clothing, reclaimed furniture, home accessories and items from local artists.

City officials say Mama’s Happy is one of 10 new businesses that have opened or will open this fall.

“When the pandemic hit and we saw some businesses closing or downsizing, it gave us pause and we wanted to reinvest in the community here on Main Street,” said Joe Hogeboom, director of Maple Grove Community and Economic Development. “We undertook a project during COVID where we completely redesigned the street, planted new trees and installed new street furniture. So it’s really great to see the results of some of these reinvestments with all these new businesses coming back to Maple Grove.”

Ashley Lindquist is the owner of Mama’s Happy. The store is located at 7804 Main Street in Maple Grove.

Hogeboom said Maple Grove hasn’t seen this many business openings at once since the pandemic.

In addition to Mama’s House, other new businesses in the area include:

According to Hogeboom, Maple Grove has the second-highest concentration of retail and entertainment space in the metro area, behind Bloomington.
