Kids share why parks are important in new video from Raleigh Parks

Raleigh Parks has released a heartwarming new video featuring local children sharing what they love about their parks. Whether it’s making new friends or improving sports skills, the voices of these children remind us of the important role parks play in our community.

The “Why Parks Matter” video captures spontaneous reactions from children enjoying Raleigh’s many parks. Highlights include a child enthusiastically describing finding a caterpillar and another praising tennis camps for boosting his confidence and skills. For many of these children, parks are a place where they can get active, socialize and feel happy.

“It helps me enjoy nature,” said one child, while another added: “If I didn’t get to the parks, I would just lie at home.”

The video highlights the importance of parks where families can come together, explore nature and promote healthy, active lifestyles for children.
